Go away, sober up or learn to read. I said one claim sounds better than another without endorsing either and saying nothing "most definitely".

I had a similar problem today,  twisting words--trying to bait by calling me a liar,    I left the forum and watched F.1.  got fed up of the guy, mods deleted many posts, cannot blame them to my cost I got to involved.      This topic reminds me of years ago when  the military were not in the picture -everyone else was to blame.  One problem Thailand had was the police were never effective enough, maybe the reason the army was asked to come in more.

You did lie, it was for all to see, again don't post lies, and you will not be called a liar, it is really very simple.

“Thaksin has long prepared an escape plan for his sister. He would not allow his sister to spend even a single day in prison,” said the source, who requested anonymity.

What a joke.

The Junta more or less admits to knowing about YS ´escape plan´ (of course they knew, they probably escorted her to the border themselves) and at the same time tells the press they couldn´t understand how she "slipped away".

There were never a chance in hell she would be allowed to spend a day in thai prison.

And they want people to believe the whole debacle isn´t politically motivated/orchestrated? Yeah right... :coffee1:

well if si\o well done the army hopefully she and her clan will soon be totally forgotten and maybe poor can get a decent person to lead them not afamily only interested in getting more for themselves

Again, what was the purpose of that post ? It did ad nothing to the discussion whatsoever. The only reason I can think off is a failed attempt to downplay the coup.

Government irresponsible---they have to be brought to heel   do you not agree  ??     Now any military people that act against the countries interest should also eventually answer for their part.       My main point is  deal with the government failure first, after that let us all deal with the events that followed.     There is no point mixing it --just shifting the blame on the military at this stage.      Take each offence in turn---OK

I prefer to wait for evidence, but I seriously doubt any orders were issued to allow her to escape.

I'm not convinced there wwre orders either... i think the rumours are true. They are as incompetent as they sound.

But your view on the police failures  ???

The junta Police overseer should be charged with criminal negligence as she was able to escape her guard detail and leave the country. The buck stops with him.

At the risk of causing mass discontent in the sycophant ranks, and of being misrepresented again, I tend to the supposition that those with almost unlimited cash can prey on human weakness to get what they want. Or as originally stated, filthy rich criminal bribes her way out.

This of course leads to the erroneous self serving claim that individual weakness is actually incompetence of the organisation as a whole. This is still a free country in which to travel, once past any security at her gate she would have little trouble getting out.

So would that be the day shift supervisor, the night shift supervisor, or the supervisor of both who was nowhere near the house when she left?

Whichever one the junta police overseer is. I'm not fussy.

Of course it is gross incompetence. This is not some dodgy drug dealer, but the ex. PM of Thailand in a high profile case. According to the authorities was monitiored 24/7 and she was able to sneak out just by bribing a few people. Pigs fly.

OK.. yes,  but what comment have you on the police failures that did nothing to prevent the unrest, and who controlled it then  ????  we know,   who did not prevent the convoys of buses and trucks from Issan to BKK ---most could have been stopped.     It must have been orders to let them go,   because the man in question was said to have paid for this red army. You know all this should have been sorted better --now look some of you people are not blaming the original problem you are blaming the only people who could have stopped civil war.

You deny any incompetence or negligence in a case involving B500 billion with ample evidence of both, and now claim the same in an unknown scenario? Do you realise your own hypocrisy?

Asylum. What a joke, she is guilty of at the very least criminal negligence, or looking the other way to frankly unchecked corruption by those in her party. As a UK citizen I would be disgusted if she was to be granted asylum, especially when there are many hundreds of thousands of INNOCENT people fleeing actual harm in their home nations.

Can only keep repeating that this idiotic woman is NOT THE VICTIM OF ANYTHING THAT WASN'T OF HER OWN MAKING. She is fleeing rightful criminal prosecution, and that should provide no grounds for asylum whatsoever.

No you would perhaps you want an asylum seeker that wants the tax payer to fund their housing and living expenses?

I doubt that she is a criminal, do you have any evidence other than from those with a political agenda?

Thailand's Lawless Junta Versus Yingluck Shinawatra: Using Courts to Punish Political Opponents

" Of course, the trial never was fair. It was orchestrated by Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha. Installed as prime minister at the head of the self-proclaimed National Council for Peace and Order, he is a comic figure highly sensitive to criticism and with delusions of grandeur. But he brooks no opposition."

OUCH! Read the rest. This is how the rest of the world sees Thailand now. It does not matter what the back story is.

I don't always like your posts to be honest but this one and the link is brilliant.

halloween, let's have some proof that she bribed her way out then  ? Or is in typical Junta fashion only the other side required to provide evidence ?

Logic tells us, someone (or actually quite a few people) had to turn a blind eye. Either way, if we believe Prawit, it will make the Junta look utterly incompetent. If he lies, it will make the Junta look bad for lying. Either way, the saving face seems to be applicable to Yingluck not the Junta.

You asked the question and I answered it. Do you or do you not agree that the junta police overseer should be arrested for criminal negligence?

What evidence, by the way, how come the costs have risen a whopping 100 billion. Don't answer, it's because the current administration likewise did a piss poor job. No-one of that administration will ever face a case of criminal negligence of course. Don't you dare using the word hypocrisy. You are literally full of it.

and to add, no-one of the current administartion stands trial for this fiasco, so not sure why evidence is such a big deal to you. Either way, they lied or they are incompetent, take your pick. I actually believe it is BOTH.

What is about the UK that every man, woman and their dog(s), money or (all too often) no money, legal (or all too often) illegal, make it their preferred destination(s)? And the Remain crowd seriously wonder at immigration being a factor in the Brexit vote?

But, of course, Thaksin, like too many wealthy Thais, owns property there; yet ironically, given the evident benefit to his family, didn't see fit to change the Thai property law in regards to foreign ownership.
