BANGKOK: -- The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) will on Monday demand a clarification from the junta about its alleged failure to prevent the escape of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra out of the country.

The PAD on Saturday issued a statement at its Ban Phra Arthit headquarter, noting that Ms Yingluck’s exit out of the country has undermined public trust in the judicial system and the security mechanism.

PAD spokesman Panthep Puangpongpan said a key member of the movement, Mr Veera Somkwamkid, would on Monday travel to the Government to demand accountability of those in charge of security affairs.

All lip service. There was no great escape, junta had ample time to hold her in custody. She was clearly "allowed" to leave as has happened many times before. Face saved all round win-win.

Yes, charge them with criminal negligence.

And if they are not charged, charge those who should have charged them with criminal negligence.

And if they aren't charged, charge those who should have charged those who should have charged them with criminal negligence.

What a wonderful future...

"allowed" I agree with your post but I wouldn't be surprised if she was "escorted" to the Cambodian border (not a crossing point but a pre-arranged point) by the military. They simply couldn't have her going to jail gaining martyrdom.

I hate the PAD more than the Junta actually. Horrible, vindictive and nasty people.

Not nearly as bad as the other political group.

Not as good as being convicted of murder... Given the death penalty... And then released on bail...will she flee Thailand too.??? I reckon so....

I agree sir the Dems are pretty bad but to be fair to them they are not violent just an ineffective branch of the Aamart/Elite Junta class.

What we need is a 'third way' peaceful movement (which I had hoped the White Shirts would become) that shun the yellows and the reds, Dems and PTP and one of whose goals is democracy and keeping the Military where they should be (in the barracks). It's a dream I know.

I think they are all quite funny, for being miserable little people with a stick up their bottom, and that includes the military as well.

Yingluck "was escaped" for good reasons. The junta just does not admit it, nor did their members admit the involvement of the Thai army in the murder of Ko Tee . To maintain power, they only will tell, what they think is good for you or the Thai people to know.

Do you actually have any evidence that Ko Tee was murdered with the involvement of the Thai army?

Or just making it up?

Better to have her out of the country. Wrong result either way could see protests on the streets.

Well? Why not? They set the precedent so now they should live by it.

They don't need to be violent, they have the army for that.

hilarious - PAD demanding - I think they may have forgotten they are under military rule - you don't demand anything. You accept the situation that they have caused.

Accountability the junta and the government has: even they control and dictate all so no wonder if they been the once who pushed things forward....and now a srceam of accountabilty???hahahaha

The poeple of Thailand are mistreated by ALL running and ruling this country and yes, these figures want that their mouth is shut!!!! Look at the press as well..

poor country will never run into a democracy

Everybody knew Yingluck's escape would happen because it's the way things have always been done, yet indignation must be expressed. Nobody with power and influence in Thailand would have wanted this to play out any different. Setting the kind of precedence that actually punishes the powerfully corrupt and makes them truly accountable would be terrifying for that crowd.

There wasn't any trust before, obviously. That is why she left.

Ah, so that's what it is. I was wondering why the OP included a picture of a bulldog chewing a wasp!
