  1. Only us fellas from Kiwi Land know what real tropical chocolate consists of. Chocolate coated Pineapple Lumps - only in NZ, although I think them Aussies might have nicked and rebranded the idea.
  2. The below is copied from the Wise terms and conditions. Just a thought, is the address registered to your Wise account outside the US? We currently can’t accept payments from: Payment cards not in your name or your business' name US issued cards, if the address on your Wise account is outside the US. All cards issued in Argentina, China, and Nigeria Business cards issued in Russia and Belarus Prepaid cards from the UAE, or international payments from an AED currency card Credit cards issued in Singapore any card when you're paying for MYR transfers or balance top ups any card if your address is in Türkiye
  3. Looking at his stance, if prosecuted he could credibly claim that he wasn't playing golf.
  4. Apologies - The recommendations were for the OP who is on 11 and Chrome. Regardless, the same issues will probably apply to 10 and Edge.
  5. I edited my first reply. Try the steps recommended. I suspect it is your cache/stored data that has been corrupted.
  6. I'm on Windows 10 and Chrome. No problems. Does the function work on other sites satisfactorily, or only a problem on Asean Now? Anyway, here's a link to "6 Bests Fixes for Google Chrome Not Opening New Tabs on Windows 11" https://www.guidingtech.com/fixes-for-google-chrome-not-opening-new-tabs-on-windows-11/#:~:text=Restart Google Chrome, might be causing the issue. It appears a restart of your computer and/or Chrome, plus clearing your cache should fix the problem.
  7. Try Pattaya Self Storage. Halfway up Thappraya Road on the left going towards Jomtien. I've been there and the name gives a false impression of the facility. They have safety deposit boxes and have an extremely good security system. I'd suggest these guys may be much easier to use than a traditional bank. https://www.pattayaselfstorage.co.th/
  8. Their submarine base at Sattahip is currently vacant. They desperately need to have one of the parking bays occupied to justify the construction of the base, and the ongoing graft expenses of the sans submarine, Submarine Squadron of the Royal Thai Navy. It requires a lot of staff and a huge budget to do absolutely nothing except write a quarterly press release saying there are no further developments. Jeez, if they were gifted a free submarine, serious panic would ensue.
  9. 555. Tell me about it. Asking for advice about your first trip to Isaan is like reading a book on how to swim. It all sounds good in practice, but.....
  10. OP, you've received very little practical advice, so here's my two bob's worth. Take mosquito spray and Imodium, you'll need them both. Be prepared to wear under-sized Thai flip-flops because some mugger will nick off with your size elevens. Take some earplugs - Thai insects have been recorded at 100+ decibels at night on the farm. Before you sleep, peel back the sheets and evacuate all the insects by thrashing the bed with a towel. Practice your squats for at least a week before you go. It would be unfortunate if you have to use the Asian porcelain urgently and you haven't trained for the event. Also practice showering with a small saucepan and a bucket of water. You will learn instantly how to make your shampoo bottle last 10 times longer. If you smoke, don't leave your packet unattended - it will soon be empty. And at every available opportunity, nick a smoke from one of the "brothers". They will then avoid being in your vicinity - this is a good thing. When she asks if you can take the family to MK, understand that the 6 people you think the family consists of will suddenly morph into a cast of dozens. You may even be asked to pay for the diesel for Uncle Somchai and his offspring to travel the 30 kilometres from his village to attend the function. When she asks to go to MK for the 2nd time, flick her 300 baht and recommend a family BBQ, thus saving you at least 14,700 baht. Be very concerned if she asks you to go to Tesco. You will end up buying 3 trolleys of merchandise, including enough clothing to outfit the entire family. And the stop at Svenson's will knock you back at least a grand and a half. I could go on, but in all honesty,I think the experience will do you good. I learned a lot. EDIT: On reconsideration, the need to identify your girlfriend and yourself with F and M and being a millennial (what are your pronouns?) suggest you may be too fragile to withstand the experience. There are no safe spaces in Isan.
  11. Cutting Edge Engineering is awesome, I enjoy all of their content. If you like Curtis and Homeless, you should check out Inheritance Engineering. Equally as interesting, but on a smaller scale.
  12. Every woman in the world knows she is sitting on a money earner. They just choose to use it in different ways.
  13. Try the Jeweller's shop on Beach road, somewhere around Soi 13/2. I had rings sized there, but quite a few years ago.
  14. Maybe I'm wrong, but in our post-modernist society there is now no objective truth, only social constructs. It will remain like this until we are all huddling hungrily around a fire in the dark, each of us with an equitable sized pile of rubble.
  15. There's so much to learn about these new fangled inventions.
  16. It's all to do with the international bank compliance on money laundering. Banks and governments want to know which countries you are earning and paying tax. Each country can issue you with a TIN. I wouldn't go haphazardly obtaining a TIN in Thailand, as that means you have to declare potentially having multi tax residency to your bank- and subject to scrutiny by your friendly tax officials. Second hand information - a Brit told me that if you don't have a UK TIN number, you can apply for one online, or use your National Insurance number instead.
  17. My M-Pass battery conked out 6 months ago. I assumed a battery change would fix it. Missus advises me that battery cannot be changed and she took the device to wherever she originally got it and was issued with a new device.
  18. This clearly explains the game to all those that don't come from a Commonwealth country.
  19. China has hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of EV's mothballed in fields all over the country, Produced to receive subsidies and prove how green they are to the WEF.
  20. SangSom rum is cheap and cheerful. Every bar has it and it's 60-70 baht at the average Bar Beer. Sure, it's a quaffing rum. Taken neat, it's a bit rough IMHO. If you want a local gut-rot whisky, try Blend 285. Blended from imported whisky barrel dregs and ethanol. 285 refers to the octane.
  21. The real issue is which gender the eventual universal AI identifies as. If it decides it's feminine, we're screwed. If it decides it's masculine, it will probably give the world a dose of actual reality where facts don't care about your feelings. Let's face it....we're screwed.
  22. Maybe it's the cologne? All jokes aside, I have never experienced anything like the OP describes. Quite the opposite, I find Thais very open and welcoming, and always up for a laugh or a joke. Not to say that they drive me mental sometimes. However, on entering bars, restaurants and song-taows, I am often in the position of having to be very selective of where I sit because of the look/dress/demeanour of some Europeans.
  23. Just one step closer to soylent-green.
  24. Just a thought - are any LED's lighting up when you hold the on/off switch in for 6 to 10 seconds? Maybe it's just the screen that's died.
  25. What he's really saying is that the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Welcome to Thailand.
