Can you explain that please. Maybe she had bad experience with a Thai guy, or two, and somehow she thinks farangs are better. This is a woman who works in the middle of Bangkok. Farangs are not really exotic here.

I think the main reason is, because they are all shy. If a guy arrives in Thailand and that nice hotel receptionist smiles at him, will he ask her out? Probably not, because he thinks it's her job to smile at him and what if she says no? How dare you? She, as the receptionist, would obviously also not ask him. Good girls don't do that, especially not at work. And then the guy goes somewhere to a bar. Maybe a girly bar, or maybe to what he thinks is a "normal bar", which is still full of hookers. The girl on the next table smiles at him. Maybe he had already his 3rd beer and he feels lucky and he walks over to her. Or she, let's call her part time hooker, walks over to him and ask him some stupid question. They are in a conversation and then things develop... It won't be long that he talked to many girls who are not shy. And they are so nice, and easy to get, and they are fun in bed. By then he forgot already about that shy receptionist...

Today I visited and office with 3 women. I know them since some time. Today one of them asked me if I have a farang friend who is looking for a Thai wife. I said no. And then I thought about: Where would I recommend such a woman should look for a guy. In this specific case the woman is maybe 30 years old, and she has a boring office job. She doesn't look great (according to my taste), and she also doesn't look so bad that every guy would walk away right away. Obviously, she wouldn't complain if her future husband would make a lot of money or be rich. But somehow, I guess she would settle for just a "normal guy". Where do you think would be a good place for her to look for a guy? Online? Offline? What can she expect? I don't know if I will tell her any answers which will come here. But maybe it's interesting and I will let her know. Over to you.

First, I thought this thread is interesting. But there are just too many guys who think they know women and who are sure any young woman who is together with an older guy must do it only because of the money. Really? Is your understanding of people so simple? To name another example: how about a person with a disability: Can they possible be an equal partner to someone else? Or would only perverts have such a partnership? Or money must be involved? Relax and open your mind a little and try to understand that there is more to life than your limited understanding.

If she doesn't work, then from what does she live? I am sure that some guys want that their wife works and contributes 50% to everything. And he does half the house work and he changes the diapers of the kids and whatever. If that is what a guy wants, please, go ahead. But many of us don't want to do any women's work. ????

I think you underestimate how lazy many people are and want to be. Watching movies all day, a little cooking and a little house work is probably the dream for lot of women - not only in Thailand. And of course there are also others. I don't understand why you should think a guy shouldn't give his wife 20k a month if she could only make 10k in a normal job. If he loves her and the 20k is no problem, then why not? I know a guy who gives his darling 40k per month. Does he have to? I don't know. But he makes so much money that that 40k is an amount which he won't notice at the end of the month.

Do you think this sounds too good to be true? If it would be true and all guaranteed, then investors would line up left and right. And you can be sure whoever sells this also gets a commission, and probably a high commission...

In my case I live together with my gf for many years. She doesn't work. Main reason, with her limited education she would only get jobs with low salary. Second reason is that I prefer that she is most of the time at home with me. I work since forever mostly at home. Maybe she prepares food, or she cleans the apartment. Or we go out for lunch or coffee. I like her company, most of the time. If she would work, then I would have to make my own food or go out alone. I do this from time to time, but it's nice to have company. That's the whole idea about having a gf or wife. I never paid a salary to my gf. But obviously I understand that she needs money for living. When we go out together then normally I pay. But if she goes to the market then she pays. And if she visits her relatives in the village then the trip obviously also cost money. What should I do? Tell her she has to work for a week so that she makes enough money to visit her family? I just accept that I pay, and she doesn't waste money. That is life. My mother also didn't have a job when I grew up. And she bought food, etc. I don't know if my father gave her a regular "salary" or if she just took money from the shared bank account or if she told him every second day that now she needs money again for food or whatever. Fact is, my father was the only one in the family who made money and he paid for everything. That used to be normal for many families.

First, I look if someone else did it already. If it is my own idea/design then I use Autodesk Fusion 360 and the Prusa tools. Fusion 360 is a great program, and with limited usage for free. It takes time to learn the concepts and how to use it. Luckily there are lots of great how to videos out there.

Yes, in theory... After looking at lots of videos I decided to buy a relative expensive Prusa 3d printer. The reason is/was that that thing works accurately the way it should work. You tell it to do A and it actually does A. It seems with many cheap printers there are lots of problems which especially beginners don't see, because they don't have the experience. That is headache. So if you want to buy a 3d printer better learn first what you get into.

And then you are surprised that your wireless keyboard doesn't work? I never looked in the manual, but I am pretty sure they are designed maybe for 2 or 3 meter distance, and without a wall in between.

"Debt collectors - any recomendations?" is an interesting headline. I thought it was about how to avoid paying extraordinary interest rates to loan sharks. But it seems you want to collect money. While I understand your principal, I would only consider doing this if it is about a lot of money, maybe a million THB or more. And then only if you have a reasonable chance to get any money. Just the fact that you have a legal agreement, and the other person has money, is far away from you getting that money - not only in Thailand.

Computer, electronics, 3d printing, currently my condo renovation, home automation, later maybe I will build a CNC machine. And obviously enough time to drink espresso and eat good food.

And what about the couples who live together and she cleans and cooks and doesn't go to work? Should she be happy that she gets food everyday? Or should she have a little pocket money for anything she likes to buy for herself? Obviously we can argue about the amount of such pocket money. But then, we can also argue about what she should pay with that money and what he will pay (i.e. going out, etc.). The fact that he gives her money is in itself nothing unusual.

I guess often it's all about the money. Should that young Thai sl$#% get the money or we kids, who obviously deserve it? IMHO the kids should have the happiness of the father in mind. If his young gf makes him happy, fine. But then, I am sure that kids are also more able to detect gold diggers. And I am sure if they do detect such a gold digger then they don't like that scenario in many ways.

That reminds me of a rich guy I know who has a great young girlfriend. His kids don't like it. But the kids still want that he helps them with their investments and the kids still want to inherit everything.

I agree. If a guy is happy with his young girlfriend or wife, then he is happy. Should he marry an old woman only to make other people happy? Sure not! It's not his problem when the other people don't like it. It's their home-made problem.

Reality is, few people ever use the swimming pools. From my high floor apartment I can see several condominium swimming pools. Most of them are empty most of the time.

I guess buying a new condominium is a lot about status. Like look at our beautiful swimming pool(s). And then 2 bedrooms on 35sqm. The luxury...

Let's say we have a couple where the guy makes 100k per month, and she has no decent education and she would only be able to get a minimum salary job for 10k per month. Would it make sense that both work? And if she doesn't work should she asked him for money every time she wants to eat som-tum? Or does it make sense that she has some money to spend? And according to the OP she also buys food from that money.

Maybe, I don't know. Sometimes I hear or see things happening and I don't see it in the news and I wonder why. But to be fair, I look at only a few Thai news sources - which are in English.

I am confused when others doubt this story. Obviously I also don't know if it is true. But what would be the point of writing something like that otherwise? To get applause from people he doesn't know for something he didn't do? Do people get high on something like that?
