  1. The Cray-1, the original "Supercomputer" used this technique with a CFC fluid called "Fluoroinert".
  2. Steve Harley, the frontman of British glam rock band Cockney Rebel, died Sunday at 73 from cancer. Harley’s family said Sunday that he had “passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side.” Harley said late last year he was being treated for “a nasty cancer.” His best known song was Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me), which went to number one on the UK charts in 1975. https://deadline.com/2024/03/steve-harley-dies-cockney-rebel-lead-singer-was-73-obituary-1235860727/
  3. At this rate we foreigners are going to be lynched on sight!! TWO motorcycle-riding foreign men refused to stop when hailed to do so by a Phuket traffic policeman instead zoomed ahead and upon finally being caught assaulted the officer, locking him in a chokehold, with a shot being fired from his pistol as they fought over the firearm, Amarin TV said today (Mar. 17). This TV channel’s news team verified that the incident did actually occur at approximately 3.50 p.m. yesterday after E-Sor web page broke the news by sharing a photo with a caption saying, “Here in Phuket… foreigners are bold and badly attack Thai police. Photo owner: Thapapong Trs.” This led to a large number of Thai netizens criticising their behaviour. https://thainewsroom.com/2024/03/17/foreigners-assault-phuket-policeman-after-being-chased-over-traffic-violation/
  4. No, that was the Mu-X, it has a good airbag! A sprained ankle is hardly "almost kill" and she was "ghost-riding" with no lights.
  5. Wife number 1 was a typical Essex Girl (Google her), beautiful, blue eyes, blonde hair, big bazookas, no brain. I loved her to bits (in reality I still do); we had 5 kids together then she swapped me for a newer model. Number 1.5 was Korean, loved her too but she turned me down, twice!! Wife V2.0 (Thai) is my keeper, love her soooo much, just as much as she loves me my bank balance.
  6. I tried explaining "Trigger's broom" to a couple of my local engineers. I think I failed
  7. Apart from a front-suspension rebuild (it all got worryingly "loose"), a failed dual-mass flywheel, a couple of prop centre-bearings and UJs and two A/C compressors it's not been a bad ride, in over 350k km it's never actually let us down.
  8. We bought our Ford Ranger new in 2005. Yesterday we received a recall notice for a "potentially dangerous" airbag, need to take the car to a local dealer to be checked. So, we've been driving around for 19 years with airbags that might not go off, and if they do, they may rip your head off! Wonderful. Just how many duff airbags are really out there?
  9. Argh! What have I done? I do recall (could be an urban myth) someone actually registering in a UK by-election as "None Of The Above" I suspect they were actually disqualified on a technicality.
  10. @george can we have a "None of the above - Please clarify in comments" please? Coz, that would be me
  11. "How to Dispose of Your Used Motor Oil. Popular Mechanics Magazine, January 1963."
  12. My youngest in the UK is building his new PC, no expense spared (he's heavily in to flight-sim and other gaming). He sent me some photos. My first impression? Where does it dispense the coffee?? His reaction was unprintable!
  13. Seriously, many of these types of pot are hand thrown and decorated, no two are exactly the same. I'm sure there's an artisan ceramics maker in CM who will make you as many copies of your pot as you like. This kind of chap bloke person: -
  14. I say, I say, I say. "What's a Greek urn?" "About 40 drachmas a week!" Boom, boom! Coat being fetched!
  15. Nah, I don't teach, although I did, long ago, provide user and maintenance training for these people https://www.spea.com/en/ My English is a product of the 1970's UK Grammar School system which also attempted to train-out my Bolton (north-west England - have a look at Fred Dibnah on YouTube for an example) accent and left me with an indeterminate speaking style.
  16. OK "computer appurtenances". Let's try and keep this on-topic.
  17. Can you give us an idea of scale (just how big is your pot)?
  18. As I noted, computer kit is zero duty so you just pay 7% VAT on the CIF value. You can do your own calculations here https://www.simplyduty.com/import-calculator/ The Amazon "deposit" ensures that you pay no extra on arrival, in fact you "should" get a small refund. There were certainly issues in the past with couriers (notably DHL) asking for extra payments but those reports seem to have dried up in the last few years (I can guarantee someone will post an instance as soon as I post this).
  19. Not exactly "in" Thailand but probably going to be the only way to get it in your price range. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-TUF-Intel®12th-Motherboard-Thunderbolt/dp/B0BQD58D96/?th=1 $229.99 + $24.81 duty deposit (should just be VAT on CIF, computer kit is zero rated for duty). Free shipping to Thailand.
  20. OK I think this one has run its course.
