    Snakes in garden

On returning from shopping one day, I discovered a snake curled up on top of my fridge; don't know what sort it was, don't know how it got there. I know a few people who would panic and try to find something to smash its face in. What did I do? I closed all the doors of the house except the back door into the garden and ten minutes later it was gone. There really is no need to kill something when at the first of a human it simply runs (slithers) away
  2. Insofar as ceasing his duties is concerned, nothing has changed! Tell me what he has actually been doing for how many years.
  3. Will VAR be invoked to settle on or off, in or out, guilty or not guilty?
  4. Am I right in thinking that it is the Samsung company itself that offers the warranty and that the store selling the product is effectively their agent? A customer is asking the store, to refer the matter to Samsung who honour their warranty in some compensatory way to customer and the store?
  5. Why shouldn't they with thousands upon thousands of them here already?
  6. If anyone still believes in a god(s) or creationism and at the same time you claim to be wise, you will need some evidence that you don't have. This post appears to be very old - no need for another resurrection! I won't be responding to any comments. T
  7. Have you read what I said??? I am not debating anything, neither do I need to. I was responding to a point from someone else, that is nothing to do with you. He mentioned that Facebook - oh sorry I said that dirty word again!! He said that it and Twitter were not sources of reliability and by me stating clearly, I didn't use them for that purpose that should be a bit of a clue that I am very unlikely therefore, to contravene the rules of this forum of which I am aware! If you don't understand ask a Moderator to intervene! Resulting from which this does not require any further comment from you.
  8. I know, about quoting anything, but what has that got do with me just saying the word - or is that not allowed?
  9. Facebook and Twitter are not MY sources of anything requiring truth or scientific significance. Google and YouTube are censored but certainly not everything and not all YouTubers. And I go there often enough to trust a great number of them and I stand by my general comment of fact checking by research as best as can be done to refute obvious "opinions" or to establish a position from which I can form a reasonable judgement. If you need to establish what is correct or not, where do YOU go? Or will you ignore all the sources of what you read and hear and believe what you want to believe? And while I am here; whether matters about most topics are someone's opinion, true, partly true, a lie or anything in between, very little has much impact on my life and I cannot control it, so I take it or leave it and maybe one day some truths may emerge that I and everyone else can agree is the real deal. Not everybody in the world is lying, deliberately misleading or giving misinformation.
  10. Another term for a 'fact checker' is 'censor.' In the context of the OP, it isn't! It isn't about 'how things used to be'. Other correct terms are, homework or research.
  11. It is my opinion that abortion should be legalised worldwide. It is my opinion that genital mutilation in boy and girls should be illegal worldwide. How can one "fact check" these examples? So first, the word "opinion" needs to be properly defined for the context it was intended for. In my opinion, the question was asked as if someone stated as a fact, something that could be challenged as probably only an opinion, as it related to a "fact check" that justified it, and would we be prepared to change our mind. My answer is. yes, I would!
  12. A "rip-off" is an exorbitant charge for something actually a lot less than its worth. If it is a scam, he can argue (if he has evidence) that he was lured under false pretenses into an "arrangement". For this case to succeed he will have prove to the court that a crime has been committed. As far as I can see, they agreed they would marry but the relationship failed - who knows? - maybe she found out he was already married - she would have the right to decide against the marriage and it is as much a situation she has a case herself to have answered. She has agreed they can talk about B3-400,000 as a "settlement". I think I would go for that, then no lawyers involved or any other expenses that would eat well into the difference of his claim for 4MB.
  13. I have been to more funerals in Thailand than I can possibly remember. in general, there will be quite a few more people at Thai funerals that have little connection to the deceased than would be the case in UK for example. The tears are often shed at events prior to the funeral itself (nearer to time of death) where closer people involved will share their open grief. This allows for some level of "acceptance" that makes the funeral itself a little easier to bear.
  14. Ah, "Cash and Grab" What a state humanity is now (and ever has been) Nobody can trust anybody! We all have to be protected from each other!
  15. How do I get an impression of a "surge" in passengers from a picture with no passengers?
  16. I have had a problem with pulse TV for the last couple of months on my pc; it is so bad that I can't watch on there any more. I have used chrome and Firefox browsers but no difference. Apart from the last few days I have watched on my tablet with no issues. But in the last two days I have had buffering with pulse and everything else on the internet on tablet and pc. I imagine it is my 3bb that maybe the problem. I haven't checked it today yet.
  17. Well, as short a time ago as yesterday, I "ended up" 40 kms from where I thought I was going! The night before my wife and I agreed we would go to a restaurant called "Chune" about 9 kms from the resort where we are staying. So yesterday we set off and although I knew basically how to get there, my wife got out her GPS and instructed me to go left out of Doi Saket in the opposite direction. I was sceptical of this decision in the form of being surprised. After more than one hour, we arrived at a restaurant called "Chuen" and simply thought it was a different spelling from "Chune". Actually it was quite nice so we had lunch there. During this time, I looked at the photos of Chune on the internet and they were quite different from where we were. My wife made a mistake - a sort of clerical error, in which she got confused with the similarity of the words between seeing the Chune Web page and checking on the GPS the next day, how to get there and instead typed in the other one. Ha ha! Today we went to Chune restaurant and had a great time. Yes, only 9 kms and about 15 minutes to get there.
  18. Take note those Pit Bull Owners on this forum! Another Pit Bull causes death turning on its own family! Now my opinion: They are all ugly looking brutes, anyway! Including photos of them here!
  19. You have asked the questions, I think, rhetorically, but the answer is, favourable publicity, that may attempt to help redress the balance of the Taiwanese woman who said she would never set foot in Thailand again after her negative experience. My point now would be that those who I believe were right in lambasting the RTP for that Taiwanese star affair should not now be cynical about a reverse situation when there was a happy ending (no, not that sort) arising from honesty and goodwill, that most of us would approve of!
  20. I agree. It is a nice little story that for the rare occasions that "Thais can be praised", there is need felt by some to create ill out of it!
  21. The answer to this question is easy. They are all over the place in all parts of the country. What do these terms, "hiso" or "good family" even mean as it relates to any particular woman? Do they state these as facts in their profile? To me, status or background of an individual is not as important, or conditions of suitability, as my perception of them now! 'Hi so and good family' tell me nothing about personality, demeanour; if they are kind, considerate, thoughtful, unselfish, honest, loving, loyal and faithful. Meeting them and understanding their general attitude towards living and loving will more likely give a better feeling of potential compatibility. Then there is a small matter of her arriving at a similar conclusion about you!
  22. Did you notice the first word in my comment? Only a little word but indicating clearly that I am aware of the "maybe".
  23. If they love each other and each are happy with the other's personality and other traits (as perceived by outsiders), maybe he isn't stupid!
