  1. I've never been to the moon - but I know a man walked on it - what has owning a car got to do with it ! Before you ask, yes I do a 10 year old Honda!
  2. Would you prefer to be euthanised or go to live with another family - that should give you your answer !
  3. He's doing it legally & correctly where he actually lives - and not a made up address! I'm surprised the "Dr" is not along to tell him to use an agent in future.
  4. I have a picture of me and John Paul II in Rome - don't know whether it helped me or not ???? I personally believe treat people like you'd like to be treated..
  5. Someone on here the other day said 80-90% of people in England are still wearing masks. I don't know where he lives, but certainly not in London or Leeds. Both have very few people wearing masks - occasionally you'll see an elderly person wear one on the bus/shop. My Mum(84) wears one on the bus on her way to Bingo, my wife wears one inside a shop but at no other time They're pretty much a thing of the past. If Thailand wants to move forward they need to make them voluntary.
  6. I thought the end of the thread was the needle ????
  7. Phuket is more of a dangerous place at the moment.....
  8. Family resort or Walking Street - the Mayor will decide where he's going to get more money from...... I don't think you can have both as the latter will tarnish the former. I have warned families not to go to Pattaya. I was first there 35 years ago, go now with the missus from BKK
  9. Shouldn't be an issue. Like everything just write a note saying they haven't renewed their passports as they haven't left the uk, so you've included latest passports. ( I wouldn't mention they are harden Brexiteers and dislike foreigners ) ???? Seriously though, maybe add a copy of the council tax bill for the last couple of years?
  10. Don't waste your time and effort - it's not worth it. Sell it and buy one once here.
  11. As an update - the missus landed at Heathrow T3 via Emirates at 20.15 ( on time ) in economy, she was out through passport control, pick up suitcase, customs and into the Car park building opposite in less than an hour. Maybe she was just lucky - she reckoned about 60 people in front of her.
  12. That's not giant - go to Lumpini Park in Bangkok and you'll see bigger ones everyday !
  13. I reckon that Liverpool side could make up into a good cup team - given the luck of the draw - remind me of the old Spurs ????
  14. So you've stayed 5 months + 2 months + 2 months. Been out less than one month Now wish to return and I assume to do the same. And you believe this is normal for a tourist ???? - You're from the US - should definitely move there now as when I was working there it was only 10 days and not 11 months vacation. I don't give a damn about your visa application or method - but that is just plain fanciful for a real tourist and telling people you think it is a bit of joke.
  15. I recently sold a Swiss AXA insurance policy which was linked to my Swiss pension compulsory contributions( I worked in Zurich for many years ). I had to get a notary in London(I'm from the UK) to sign and stamp a copy of my passport, proof of address and completed form stating it was me and my wife. I wasn't even married when in Zurich. I believe if you get that stamp you should be fine - all accepted. If any doubts contact them and confirm a notary stamp is acceptable. Note: I just saw UJ's reply. I'd send them an email and confirm whether or not the notary signature/stamp is acceptable or not.
  16. Only if you're mad ! ???? I would massively advise against this.
  17. A little off-topic but still to do with Wise - but the Wise ATM card use. In the UK we transferred cash to our Wise account. My missus when to the ATM in Bangkok to test a withdrawal with the WISE ATM card. It came up with a transaction charge of 220( she was only withdrawing 100 baht to test ), is this correct and expected? Cheers
  18. I wouldn't be vindictive re the money or the relationship - just put it down to experience. I would inform the relevant dept as to the change in circumstances to which the visa was granted. I remember when we applied many years ago, we put that my then gf would be staying with me and I would be supporting her whilst in England ( she didn't need it she had plenty of cash ), we thought it'd just make the visa easier. I believe we included that in a covering letter, with obv' employment details & both our bank statements. If you remove your part of the equation a visa may not have been granted If she gets into trouble, overstays etc your going to be their first point of call. At least if you email them you have proof you tried to contact them as a bit of covering your <deleted>. I think you're well within your rights to do that. I'd tell her too, that you're not being vindictive you just need to cover yourself. Obv' kiss goodbye to any sort of reconciliation. Good Luck
  19. I know when I fly in with my Thai wife we go through the UK queue - sorry don't know about a child. I'd have my doubts if they'd send her to the Non-UK queue, that's assuming the baby is coming in on her British passport. I believe there are staff before the queues your wife could ask. Where are you seeing the queue times of 3 hours, is this a website or just what is reported in the press? My Thai wife flies back into LHR tomorrow and I'm picking her up from the airport. I was trying to find any info' on wait times and couldn't find anything - their SLA is meant to be 45 mins. There are no Covid/Passenger Locator forms anymore so much reduced checking.
  20. Can't you just tell the HMRC you are no longer earning/working so they take you off self-assessment?
  21. As someone that does rent out some of my personal condos I totally agree in Bangkok. I have promised my wife I will not buy any more houses or Condos - anywhere. Move the responsibility to the owner and give yourself freedom to roam - especially if not tied down. Noisy neighbours etc - just move. Just make sure you have a clause in the contract that you can give x months notice. Owning & renting Condos is a pain and you have better things to do.
  22. My brother-in-law is an Electrician, when he came over to visit he couldn't believe the overhead cables, even in the center of Bangkok. When we got out of town he just used to laugh and shake his head. He probably took more pics of the overhead cables than the beaches for his mates at home ????
