  1. What a total d**k. No way to behave. I know that economy is not that spacious but one must have respect for crew and other passengers. No excuse. THAI have only been charging for those exit row/bulkhead seats since the pandemic. Seeing them empty and unused, he probably thought fair game. As we know Thai people love to enforce rules - No pay No sit Sir! Last year my mother and family flew home to the UK with THAI and they paid about £70 each to move to the exit row seats. For all the flights I've done back and forth UK/Thailand with THAI over the last 25 years I have only seen any passenger related trouble on one occassion and that was a farang totally drunk stumbling around the cabin. The crew handled him very well and avoided escalation or incident. They placed him in a row and he quickly fell asleep. He was still asleep as everyone else disembarked in Bangkok. Generally THAI flights are very calm in my experience.
  2. Very topical. At our recent condo AGM there was a proposal regarding installing chargers for EVs in our underground car park. Should an EV fire occur, it would be impossible to get a fire truck in there. If the fire was to spread to other vehicles, the inferno could quite possibly result in structural collapse of the whole building. I haven't heard the result of the AGM but suspect that my written objections as a co-owner (on these fire grounds) may not have made a difference. I'll find out when returning in a few months.
  3. There is only one Mustard, and that is Colman's English Mustard. I bring it in powder from the UK. Lasts forever. Mix with a little milk for creaminess. Not to Thai tastes IMO. But sure as heck goes great with Pork and Chicken. Ps. Took an American GF to Beigel Bake, Brick Lane, London for Salt Beef on Rye bread. Laced with English mustard. Lovely dish but nearly blew her head off with the hotness of the mustard. Fantastic!
  4. What's FaceBook? Do I need it to get friends?
  5. My experience too. The Thai people are very helpful in their community. My ex-wife's family seemed to feed (and water with alcohol), the local community each day. Sister in-law would cook up huge pots of food each afternoon. Would feed for 3 meals. All nearby were welcomed to come and eat. Kin Khao Ru Yang? Is something we hear often
  6. China is already falling. Next?
  7. Just use Skype out. Can call all numbers and 0800 numbers are free too.
  8. Outgoing since 2014. A real shame for Thailand that Prayut wasn't gone a long time ago.
  9. Agreed. In the UK the police will rarely ever pursue illegal motorcycle riders or criminals on motorbikes. Supposedly for the safety of the criminal. Due to this, the criminals learned that they can almost certainly evade the law by riding a motorbike. Totally wrong IMO. If they run from the cops they deserve their fate. In the USA they'd probably be shot.
  10. How did these senators get the power they have?
  11. I've had Kasikornbank since 2004 (when it was Thai Farmers - remember that?). I have always found their contact centre - English language - very helpful on the rare occasions needed to call. Always better by calling the contact centre rather than going into any branch - I was told by one branch that I had to go into the account holding branch 780kms away to update - Wrong!). I was able to change address and update new passport info by phone (and email copy of new passport) in 2019. Very pleased with service and support from Kbank support.
  12. Not sure about PEA, but I got my meter refund from MEA in 2020. There was an online web form at the time. Why not take the text to your local PEA office and ask them?
  13. But neither of those featured on the list on connected incidents that @ezzra provided. Always nice to see the golf course when landing or taking off. Ahh Thailand. Or maybe the risk lies with a pilots checking out the golf caddies rather than concentrationg on flight manouvres?
  14. The state of electrical safety in Thailand is shocking.
  15. Lack of reason given as to why DMK is ranked as it is. Two long runways, no altitude issues, winds never normally an issue, sure there can be heavy rains but that's same in any SE Asian airport. Can be a bit misty early mornings though. It has full ILS and tech etc. Would have been nice to know why it got the ranking it did. Only crash there that I can recall was the Qantas 747 that went off the end of the runway in 1999.
  16. The British Embassy stopped issuing "affirmation of residence" in December 2022 and it has been removed as a service from their website. I got mine from them at beginning of November 2022 after booking online. I expect they they will no longer issue such letter under any circumstances. Still worth contacting them just in case they will.
  17. Thanks. Very useful. I normally use DLT Morchit so will try Area 3 in Phra Khanong instead.
  18. Thanks. Friend in Hua Hin said same and offered to file TM30 at his house for me. A bit messy as address on licence will not be my home in Bangkok.
  19. My motorcycle licence is up for renewal in the next year. As I don't stay in Thailand for 90 consecutive days due to travel (so no 90 day report), it is not possible to get COR from Immigration. Now the British Consulate don't issue the letter, how am I to renew my driver's licence without this item? I do have yellow book, however the DLT would not accept that last year for car licence renewal. I'm guessing using an agent will be required.
  20. A. Give them everything and more. Update your sponsor letter. A good reason to digitise, save and back up all documents (I do this with GF's passport full copy, entry, exit stamps and flight boarding cards). Still don't get how you wife could lose such a valuable document as old passport but Asians don't place as much importance on evidence for future life. NB: my GF's two children are entitled to another citizenship but after 14 and 20 years they have zero status in that 3rd country despite being entitled to it. I think you'll be fine.
  21. Strong stuff. Maybe kills humans too?
  22. Just ask yourselves. Would you buy a home off this man? There is already FazWaz, HipFlat, DD Property and hundreds of others. There are so many issues with his spiel that don't inspire confidence. I won't criticise specifically, though as a potential buyer I would say that I am not looking for cheap, I am looking for genuine, well presented properties that are good value. No dummy listings, remove listings not available, answer your phone, reply to emails promptly and interact with your customers. Oh, and there's the problem, your buyers are not your customers. The sellers are your customers. For that reason, buyer beware! Note: No mention of email address or phone number on this advertorial. Not impressed despite all the "social media followers".
