  1. In the wardroom (Officer's Mess) in the Royal Navy there are three topics that mean the offender has to buy a round of port (in harbour)! They are Sex, Politics and Religion! Politics and Religion are banned for obvious reasons over argumentative positions and Sex is not discussed in case some little "liaison" during any recent "Port Calls" could get back to wives or sweethearts!
  2. I would have thought a "Gold Top' more appropriate for you!
  3. I do not believe that there are many on this forum who would disagree with what seems to be a very fair self assessment!

  5. So you refuse to answer my question of "what your definition of "nearly king" is"!
  6. What a stupid analogy! The president and Vice president never serve more than 8 years in office and if one dies or resigns a replacement is either voted in or found. Look at Nixon, Agnew & Ford! It is not a true line of hereditary succession!
  7. Since you are playing "Mr Pedantic" please explain what your definition of "nearly king" is if you consider being only two steps for 22 years from the throne or any other inheritance is not near enough? The reason Harry's book was titled "Spare" is that royal families and most dynasties want to keep their lineage intact and ensure the have an "Heir and a Spare"!
  8. In the 22 years that he was 2nd in line to the throne a lot could have happened to the 2 above him and he would certainly have been groomed as the "spare" from an early age!
  9. It is just a pity that many of them failed to learn comprehension and understanding at the same time!
  10. Glad to see that the shoe is on the other foot now! I suggest we leave the poor shoeless sole alone as it must be feeling well down trodden now! Still we all have other paths and footsteps to tread!
  11. Well bless my sole! I assume that the main ingredient of that meal did not originate in Dover! Did the diner feel like a right heel during the meal and make a runner, (tongue in cheek) as he legged it?
  12. If you use VLC (free) to watch your videos you can get it to attach subtitles to your movie/TV show. Just Google "VLC Subtitling"!
  13. The last time I checked one applies freely to gain employment at all jobs! 7/11.
  14. No but they have to put up with grumpy mean spirited customers during their long shifts with the repeated sounding of the door gong!
  15. I suggest he breeds with the same breed of dog as he is as there are enough cross bred mongrels in the world already!
  16. And first prize goes to you for posting the most pointless post in recent times!

  18. They were not "welcomed", they were imposed on the country!
  19. It's definitely NOT exciting to see Thailand embracing the potential of the cannabis industry and paving the way for legal cannabis consumption in Asia. The cr@p should go back on the banned list and let people live their lives free of this abominable scourge on society!
  20. There have been endless wars since at least the end of WW11! The following conflicts overlapped each other, leaving no days where the entire world was at peace. 1942-1954, Hukbalahap Rebellion 1944-1947, Jewish Insurgency in Palestine 1942-1949, Ukrainian Insurgency 1944-1956, Guerilla war in the Baltic States 1948-1960, Malayan Emergency 1955-1975, Vietnam War 1960-1996, Guatemalan Civil War 1991-2002, Sierra Leone Civil War 2001-present, War in Afghanistan See also the following; List of ongoing armed conflicts - Wikipedia All wars in the 20th century, since 1900 | the Polynational War Memorial (war-memorial.net) war - Have there been only 26 days of peace since 1945? - Skeptics Stack Exchange
