What visa best for getting married?
DrJack54 replied to wiliamuk's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The only Non O you could obtain in UK is based on retirement. That would complicate your first extension. Could not do that based on marriage. Tourist visa provides 60 day stamp. Visa exempt entry the same. Both can be extended by 30 days. You can obtain a non O marriage from visa exempt and tourist visa entry at local Thai immigration office. You should obtain "freedom to marry" prior to coming to Thailand. -
Pink I.D Card & Yellow Book
DrJack54 replied to Bangkok Black's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I would put it differently. You have obtained what is required. Even your post couple above regarding payment options at embassy. Someone's else's fault. Check acceptable payment options prior and be prepared. -
Some offices use this form. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=3202 Number 22. Folk need to be aware that their immigration office may require bank book and photocopies of pages back to last extension if using extensions retirement using money in bank method. Previously not listed on the form (attached screenshot). New requirement at CW.

You can apply outside of Thailand at some Thai consulates/embassies. I posted in another thread of chat with young UK guy who obtained for DTV eVisa while in UK Took only 3 days (amazing) Easy for him as he actually does have a UK employer and his work is entirely online.. Have seen reports of obtaining at Vientiane. Agents in Thailand are offering packages (expensive) to assist with obtaining DTV mainly at Savannakhet. Those include the whole deal. Transport, hotel etc. Takes about 5 days.

Missed that part. When you apply for extension based on marriage you will be given a stamp to return on that date to receive final stamp.. That under consideration period can be 4 weeks.. If you apply 45 days early thinking you will be ok. In your shoes (job wise) I would consider changing to based on retirement in future.
-
Correct. Most offices allow up to 30 days prior to expiry. Some Phuket, CW, CM allow 45 days prior to expiry. Many folk live in Thailand on extensions based on retirement and travel in and out of Thailand on regular basis. All that is required is multiple reentry permit. Oil/gas guys (over 50) good example. Even some guys married opt to do extensions based on retirement as it's granted on the spot with no under consideration period and no home visit..

90 day report in person, what is required
DrJack54 replied to Kenny202's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Which immigration office -
You would be obtaining a 12 month extension. It's not multi entry. In order to exit and reenter Thailand you buy a multiple reentry permit. 3800b. Can be obtained at immigration or airport on departure. Assume you are under 50. Be aware of the financial requirements for the extension. Funds in Thai bank. https://aseannow.com/topic/1342295-non-o-visa-extention-based-on-marriage-in-phuket/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1337120-what-are-docs-required-for-non-o-married-extension-please/

Best time of day for jomtien immigration?
DrJack54 replied to pomchop's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
2 page post over simple question. Seems consensus is to attend Jomitien any time after 9am and if after lunch break preferred then don't leave it till late. -
Read the OP. He is using money in bank method for extension based on marriage. He is not using agent for extensions. He is dealing with CW and bankbook will not be required. Note to OP, have bb with you even though won't be required. For those with extensions based on retirement at CW your financial compliance will be checked..

This thread has just about reached its use by date. OP, is 53 yr and has easy option to live in Thailand with annual extensions from a Non O retirement. Insufficient funds then use agent option. From history provided is living in Thailand on concoction of ED, visa exempt entry, etc One would think denied entry would be wake up call. Seems not as asking about a tourist visa.

Yes. Kasikorn most likely will open account with the Non O stamp in your passport. Explain that you intend to obtain 12 month extension. A TM30 along with lease would be a bonus. Bangkok Bank wanted "certificate of residence" along with the non O. Your application won't be rejected. Even if it was doesn't mean loss of ticket. Fly to Thailand enter visa exempt and obtain non O at immigration. This plan B would require agent to open bank account. 4k Best option is to get the non O in USA.
