  1. OP, did mention "brief" stay in Vietnam. For Saigon consulate he would require an appointment. Bit messy.
  2. Your plan would work and yes a reentry permit would "protect" the balance of your 60 day permission of stay from your tourist visa entry to Thailand. Upon return to Thailand after Vietnam trip you can apply for 30 day extension..
  3. It would be very unusual for someone with 60 day stamp and obtain reentry permit. Better option would be to exit and reenter visa exempt..
  4. No it's NOT a retirement visa. It's a Non O that is single entry and that 90 day stamp (permission of stay) can be extended by 12 months. Visas CANNOT be extended. Your permission of stay can be extended. Just showing ignorance. Ask for advice and folk will advise
  5. Read earlier posts from experts trying to explain things to you. There is no.... (get a one year non-o retirement) Absolute ignorance. There is a Multiple Entry non O based on marriage or retirement that provides stamp of 90 days permit. Then exit and reenter for another 90 day permission of stay. That is completely different to a Non O based on retirement or marriage and subsequent 12 month extension. No requirement to exit Thailand. If wish to you need to buy a reentry permit. Available single or multiple. Apples and oranges hence need detail..
  6. Geez. He can apply for a single entry Non O based on retirement.. He could also apply for ME Non O based on retirement. Neither should be referred to as Retirement Visa. Very different animals. Won't continue this chit chat as obviously pointless.
  7. There is zero point in doing that . Read BritTim post above In your case either just exit and return visa exempt or attend immigration and obtain 30 day extension. Why are you exiting Thailand and returning
  8. Yes really. A pathway to living in Thailand is to enter with tourist visa or visa exempt and using TM86 and TM87 respectively to obtain a Non O based on retirement or marriage. That requires 800/400 on day of application. That provides a 90 day stamp. In the last 30 days apply for 12 months extension. Alternatively obtain Non O prior to entering Thailand at Thai embassy or consulates.
  9. We do not know what someone is asking. Many threads start with... "I have a Retirement Visa" That could mean Non O based on retirement single entry giving 90 day permission of stay. Could mean have annual extension. Could mean Non O-A. Could mean ME Non O marriage or retirement. Valid for one year All of which require specific advice.
  10. Stop. The 800k is using money in bank method for obtaining a Non O based on retirement in Thailand. The subsequent 12 month extension required 800k seasoned in Thai bank account in your name only for 2 months. The application for the initial non O only requires 800k in account on day of application. BTW visas are not renewed. The permission of stay can be extended. The ME Non O visa either based on marriage or retirement is a visa valid for one year and I won't outline the requirements as that has been explained above. Think couple of posts from mods explained clearly that option. In the main obtained at Savannakhet for folks already in Thailand. Back the truck up. You are very confused
  11. You start a thread and then post rubbish. Such as ..... "No words for a moron like you....." Along with many other offensive posts. At 85 stop being grumpy old man Use an agent to obtain your annual extensions if it's all too much for you..
  12. As per usual rubbish post from you. For annual extensions many immigration offices require TM47 receipt. Even CW has now required it. I did my annual extension this week (Wed) and TM47 was required. Also last March for my application for certificate of residence. In fact for certificate of residence at CW that cannot be issued without having made a 90 day report
  13. That's been the case for years. Even for agents in Pattaya sending passports up to kk..
  14. You are correct. CM is an outliner. Don't know why. Vaguely recall threads about this and another immigration office was doing same. Don't understand why. There are ~ 75 immigration offices and as always couple of weird offices It's sad that many posts in various from "experts" state.... "As always need to check with your particular immigration office" ????
  15. Stop embarrassing yourself. You have been given good advice from Lite Beer and BritTim. BTW both guys are mods and extremely experienced. Sometimes terms are not all that important. Often it is. Suggest you keep reading threads to learn
  16. No. Read my earlier post. Personally I'm on continuous stay from 10 year back. Exit reenter Thailand with a reentry permit. No new TM30 is required for inter province stays and trips abroad. For tourists they have no need of a TM30 UNLESS they intend to attend immigration. Example a 30 day extension to tourist visa or visa exempt entry.
  17. OP , it's all about continuity of stay. If you exit Thailand and return on new visa or visa exempt you will need to make a TM30. On other hand it you exit Thailand and reenter with a reentry permit or ME Visa then you are not required to make a TM30. The rules regarding TM30 were changed in June 2020. Sadly one major immigration office has not followed change to rules. Specifically 2.2 That office is CM. Ridiculous immigration office. In event of change of address where you normally reside that would require a TM30. Not applicable to OP.. This thread outlines change in requirements. https://aseannow.com/topic/1169664-thai-immigration-announce-changes-to-tm30-reporting/
  18. Just sometimes people I have on ignore I opt to read their post. Maybe I was wrong. So I read your previous 2 posts suggesting PE visa for 95 year old. Get real ...most foolish suggestion
  19. Yes it can. For most immigration offices the funds having been in Thai bank account for several months would not require proof funds from abroad
  20. Do you wish to contribute in positive fashion. The multi entry 90 day visa option to Vietnam has only recently been added to eVisa options for Vietnam. The OP is asking about Thailand. You have no idea of OP situation. Your post is completely irrelevant.
  21. Yes it does. He can obtain at his immigration office or at airport.
  22. He can obtain a reentry permit. 1000b for single Without reentry permit he would need to enter visa exempt. His best option depends on how long he wants to stay in Thailand.
  23. I vaguely recall recent post of immigration office wanting EMS on return envelope. Think it was CW. You cannot obtain that stamp in advance. Think one suggestion was to include 40 baht stamp and write EMS on return envelope. Personally I wouldn't bother . I just had post office place 12baht stamp on return envelope.
  24. I use B4 size envelope. Fold the return envelope to fit inside the posted B4 envelope that has a EMS stamp. Regards return stamp splash out and pay for EMS.
