  1. What happened to the charges for unexplainable wealth?
  2. And did they bring a sick report or a note from their mother?
  3. I don't see it like that. A few months ago my son was with some old friends, I know all of them, all very balanced and intelligent people. They all speak good English. They were watching the late night news on TV. There was a segment on the jail bird and his curent activities as an 'advisor' to the PM. One of sons buddies looked at me and said 'he is a very bad man', another said 'yes, bad and dangerous', another said 'and powerful and he's been in serious violence before'. I asked 'do any Thai people thinke he's a good man?' Instant response a loud NO from all present.
  4. Agree and be sure to get anything the lawayer says / does fully documented and in both languages and properly signed and witnessed. And any copy in English read it slowly and carefully to ensure it not confusing or inconsistent in any way and can't be interpretd in different way by different people. Yes a tall order but it may push the lawyer to be serious and professional.
  5. Which would be very bad news. He's not frightened to take advantage of / dominate any political situation he can explore and gain from including getting closer to the PM and to opportunities.
  6. "... the controllers of the Senate are thinking perhaps the game is up and they might need to concede some authority back to the people elected to the Parliament, ..." Why do you say that? Please share.
  7. And leave the debt problem to your family to take care of and become poor. Not good advice.
  8. I wonder if you're more ignorant than she is?
  9. Consulting or cronyism with personal power (tell me what you want, I WILL make it happen)?
  10. Nice point, however I didn't believe him when he said that. Unfortunately, I wonder if he's the person who has the 'authority' to make such statement. Seems to me (as aluded to by many others), there's another force at play who utltimately decides: - Whether there will or won't be another coup. - Which way the majority of the senators will vote, additional to their 'natural' soul food of 'the military is really the ruler of this country and we will keep it that way', along with 'glory to the military'. Meanwhile everybody is expected to be good little soldiers and just say 'yes' or 'no' as expected, to show their respect.
  11. Where?
  12. Nice point but in reality Tai folks and many farang never read signs. Societies all over the world need to do a rethink of how to communiate with and successfully keep the populace well informed. E.g. IMHO all social media should have a license to operate but they have to (by law) give back to society in terms of being a broad communications tool and cannot be used as tools to promote rampant capitalism and cannot be used to broadcast fake news and unsubstantied claims of health improvements etc.
  13. Nice points. The last 2 lines ... seems to me if written in terms of the levels os done: - IMHO the most damage done is 'the big guns system' I express this as the self glorification of the military, who belive they have a total and absolute right to direct the country and it's citizens and which which cannot be questioned. - IMHO next in terms of damage done; The fat cats - the few families who own a very very large proportion of the wealth of Thailand and it grows bigger. Attempts to gain a better spread of the wealth remain unsuccessful and the gap continues at an unconscionably very large gross level and with the fat cats showing no concern. Yes deep change is needed and now. Bring on a party with desire to create a society with some level of socialism - share the wealth, the vast majority have a good quality of life, society cares for & supports each other. Theres equality in education and it's free because education is the springboard to a society where all have a right to speak out and are capable of constructing and verbalizing solid valuable argument. And all kids gain a good awareness of the outside world and the way it operates politically and economically.
  14. Banks have sites showing property which has been repossessed by that bank. Some banks have a notie board near the door showing photos of local property which that bank/branch has repossessed. Keep in mind that some banks (all countries, but not legal in some countries) have a policy to sell such properties at a price which recovers the o/s loan amount and expenses and not much more.
  15. And how many parents, farang or Thai actually teach heir kids or explain how this equipment works and teach them how/when/how high to lift their feet at the 'end of the journey?'
  16. Sure and this guy would be the all time poster boy manic to be important, manic for others to see how wealthy he is. A Thai man I know of the same, he's an English coversation teacher, not very good at it, doesn't teach English writing because he can't write English sentences. Bores his Thai students every day with new/old big photos on the class room walls of luxury houses and expensive cars he claims to own. And he makes sure they all get mentioned during his class. Supposed to teach English conversation but there's no 2 way conversation, just his self agranisment. Years ago he borrowed 10M Baht from a very naive farang, never been repaid. Farang is very wealthy. Also years back the Thai I'm important guy went to farangs house and said 'my car has been stolen', so naive farang gave him the keys to his expensive close to new BMW, 'here, use this until the police find your car'. He never had a car. Years later still using the BMW, even using an oil company fleet card to refill the tank.
  17. The approval rate is very low, and is way way less than the maximum number of approvals allowed each year. It's not just a 'get the is and ts all in order on the app. docs and your in'.
  18. The numbers of US Americans who have travelled is not much bigger, and you can see how easily they accept total lies.
  19. Confused, not surprised, do you know what day of the week it is?
  20. Well you can find some twisted local 'beliefs' around these subjects. When my Thai son got married his loud mouth lady boy older brother in law (who lives permenantly in a fanyast world) did the rounds of all the outer members of brides family telling them: - By Thai law and Australian law when a man who has some connection to Australia marries all members of the brides family (parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters in law, all kids, all regardless of age, working/not working ) are entitled to a monthly allowance of 50,000Baht from the Aust. gov't. They all signed up then lady boy presented the list to my son requesting that he get me to get it started. My son instantly told lady boy brother in law 'not true / no such thing. You will have to tell everybody on your list it's not true / not happening'. My son's lady boy BIL insisted it was true and he called the Aust. embassy in Bkk to get them to confirm. They didn't of course and told him to not ring back. Lady boy proceeded to tell all that the Aust. embassy is corrupt and is stealing all this money every month and they tell lies.
  21. She wants you to earn moe ans then spend more. Are you a *star* at her establishment?
  22. You need a hobby, something a bit more interesting that arguments over the unsubstantiated unwinable subject you chose. Painting by numbers could be good ... By the way, perhaps it's a successful bar and the mamasan already earns more than you?
  23. But if that's true maybe (hopefully) the new MFP / PTP gov't will quickly enact changes to the laws re: - selection of senators (hopefully by voting) and remove any process which automatically favors / appointment of military/police/retired nilitary of police. - remove their right to participate in the selection of the PM.
  24. Does the driver also get discount on the M150 energy drink?
  25. The applicant must have proof of holding a Thai Work Permit continuously for 3 years and still hold the WP at the date of applying and for further time. The applicant must also submit written proof that their personal Tax Thai returns for th same period have been submitted and totally clearly (paid). Holding a work permit also means that the applicant must have a visa which aligns to holding a work permit. You need to check whether the visas you mentioned do align to holding a work permit.
