  1. This was from Maneerat 4 months ago, but as already said, go get the latest straight from the horse's mouth.
  2. More details of the Golden Visa in this post. Not at all high investment level required. https://aseannow.com/topic/1348917-thai-tax-tangle-expats-warned-of-new-rules-on-overseas-income/page/90/#findComment-19820404
  3. I think he's describing this procedure: https://www.samsung.com/latin_en/support/home-appliances/how-to-change-display-temperature-from-setting-temperature-to-current-room-temperature-using-a-remote-controller/
  4. From what I've read here and elsewhere, Bangkok Bank seems now to be always next day at 2:00pm if the transfer is initiated after about 10:00 or 11:00am Thai time (up to £25,000) and getting the "International Transfer" annotation all the time now. Don't know if that change is here to stay but I suspect so.
  5. Which Thai banks? I would bet yours wasn't to Bangkok Bank.
  6. Tranglo certainly seem to be popping up a lot but maybe that's because there's a lot of issues at the moment. Tranglo have been a partner for over a year without much mention. I've posted in another thread that a potential reason is the recent imposition of ISO 20022 messaging format on transactions which has ruled a lot of banks out of the process altogether and I suspect is causing some teething problems with others.
  7. Could the display be toggling between set point and actual room temperature? Does the 33 (in the video) or 31 (as you wrote) lower as the room temperature comes down?
  8. Lots of reports of this and as mentioned upthread I think it's here to stay. The most plausible reason for it from what I've read is a recent change by the Thai banks to use the ISO 20022 message format. Some haven't changed and these have been excluded from receiving Wise transfers for now. Those that have changed have in many cases had their upper limits for transfers increased. I don't know why this means things take longer but it seems to be a side effect and we may just have to live with it.
  9. The discussion is spread over a few threads, but yes, something has changed. I use Bangkok Bank too (from the UK) and everything seems to be arriving now at ~ 2:00pm with the International Transaction annotation. They seem to be having problems with their partner bank(s) too. The change they introduced restricting the Thai banks they could send to is understood to be down to the adoption of a new communication standard for transactions which some banks aren't ready for, and I would bet all the other hiccups are down to this too.
  10. That defines the categories that are assessable. You decide whether the money you remit belongs in one of these categories.
  11. Yes, lots of unusual things happening. I set up a new recipient on Monday and got the menu asking for the reason for transfer where I selected personal services or whatever it is. ~ 55,000 THB sent and hopefully with them 2:00pm Tuesday, although not yet confirmed. Again GBP from my UK bank to BBL. Transfer partner BBL. If I do a transfer to the same account today there's no pull down menu and it uses "Pay for Services" automatically. Delivery tomorrow at 2:00pm for all values up to £25,000 GBP then changes to delivery Friday after that.
  12. Wise have been using Tranglo for some transfers since at least the beginning of last year. They initially said it was for transfers >50,000 THB to SCB but looks like this has been expanded.
  13. Not every currency and as Yellowtail mentioned for USD above a certain point a Swift transfer is better. Another poster worked it out as being just over $20K USD for him IIRC but the $10K mentioned may be just as true. The reason is that with the USD being the most traded currency, the spread on it used by the banks is much smaller. I did the sums in another thread recently and at that time the spread Bangkok Bank used on the USD was 0.88% whereas on the GBP it was over 2%. This benefits those sending USD direct to Thai banks whereas those of us sending GBP, EUR etc get the bum deal from the banks and Wise seems to always win. I never dug too deep but think that when the spread is less than the percentage element of Wise' fees then Swift will win afer a certain value, whereas when the spread is greater then Wise wins.
  14. I think it's just the new normal for these transactions, I just wish Wise had communicated it up front and prevented all the head scratching the apparent change has generated.
  15. Can only be done a maximum of 3 days in advance. All other dates are greyed out and cannot be selected. If typed in manually it'll show an error message.
  16. Depends on your residential status, source of funds, DTA etc etc.
  17. Go to Messages, Orders, Settings and you'll see this: Select View More and you'll be here: Deselect Seller Promo and anything else you don't want and you'll be sorted.
  18. It appears the reason for sending money is not now selected from the pull down menu and personal expenses is being selected automatically (for me at least, sending GBP to BBL). I think all BBL deposits going forward will show as international and follow the 2:00 o'clock timing.
  19. And I bet it had the International Transfer annotation too? I had similar but from the UK.
  20. i've only ever done that once just to try something out. I normally just set up a transfer and fund it from my UK bank, but that money never appears in my Wise account.
  21. I'm glad I'm not an "urban professional" and don't want "Japanese omakase joints" or "three floors of curated retail". I also definitely don't want to live in a "hipster pocket" so I'll probably just pass on these places .
