  1. They could fly to Dubai, pay 150K usd each, wait 5-6 weeks and leave with a carribean passport incl. schengen and commonwealth access countries.
  2. Many Thais are depressed, it is just that you do not show that to strangers here as everything is about saving face. Buddhism to do with it? Nothing at all lol, that's just some fantasy of people who watched movies. No better than any other religion in any country.
  3. So common in social places like chiang mai or island where foreigners leave it and allow you to rent it out as a Thai. Not sure what the news, shocker or funny part is anyway. OP rented bike and decided to fix it up, and expects it is his whenever he returns to rent again? Then just offer to buy it. I actually have a decent good motorbike I left with someone to store for me and he is allowed to use or rent it out too.
  4. That's the thing right, if she only asked, it been fine. Otherwise you have 10 people doing it in no-time and soon the village headman claims it is not even your land lol.
  5. I'm not buying into the poor woman story here. I have seen countless of thief Thais, even where I am living right now they sometimes sneak onto private properties with bungalows to steal durian, fruit and more. They do not even bother to ask, this could be a long ongoing thing in the news case. If we would be doing that we would be jailed for sure. Or can I just grab a free banana next time at the market too?
  6. The first ones are going for mass and quantity, they still often earn quite some money even I consider it to be wasted data on the Internet in terms of real value. The second thing is always easier, if you do something you also really like. However the money is often in things you do not like, but can help you to achieve being able to do what you like, once you have set the foundation of earnings. Focus on what earns, and where there is space left in niches. When you earn, you can focus on what you like. This is why the new generation often is quite a big mess, they think they can follow their dreams and get rich.
  7. Web vitals and performance as well being AMP ready are over 50% of the weight in SEO, so going for the cheapest hosting is the first big mistake. You could easily get 100 dollars a month within 3 months if following the proper available education material for affiliate marketing. Other than that it is nothing other than being a sales person or having a shop, the difference is using a website for it. Deliver quality content and products or services to those interested and you make a sale = affiliate comission. Have done this for the past 10 years in Thailand, half my income is semi-passive. The only catch is to keep going, even the existing sites do well, as they usually die off after some years. YouTube is a completely different game, it's based on the ads within youtube or promoting on request. A bit similar to people who make websites where they depend 90% on Google Ads. GEO makes big differences, 100K views in Thailand might pay much less than 1K German views with interest in finance (simply as advertisers pay a lot per click for that specific country and niche). So you can also have youtubers that seem way less populair, but in reality earning the same as a big channel. As well this can be the same for any affiliate website but I guess that is quite obvious. The vast majority doesn't take it serious neither continues long-term, so there is a lot of fish in the sea to catch. It is quite hard to keep working for free, for months or even years, before then suddenly getting 3-5K a month doing barely anything aside of keeping things up to date and starting with new projects, but now while getting money too. It usually doesn't go like growing 10 dollars a month but rather radical after a long silence with few results. A zero dollar earning site can turn into 300 a month, out of nowhere, over time.
  8. Keep doing what you do, we are born for that.
  9. It is not a myth or addition at all, it is just a different type of girls, the real good lookers and many local girls who dislike farang places / old guys, did Online way before covid even started. But yes, the reason of not having many ''farang bar'' girls is certainly not because the girls now all work online. They likely are just lazy and working on the farm. They do not understand they need to invest by showing they are around, before more farangs return. They expect it the other way around and nowadays even demand daily salaries aside of a free room and food. To then try and cheat customers out of 3K baht for a short time, it soon is no longer any fun. At least in soi 6 you can still get drunk and get a girl with total 2500 baht but elsewhere it easily runs up to 6K for a night out. I stopped partying and to be honest, most girls are trash in those places anyway, same for most older customers.
  10. Might as well say Thais in general; they do not have plans and if they do it is way too little and unrealistic. We can only wish they do become realistic, then you would see much more girls again offering 1K service for a good hour. Regarding the girls, when they are young they get spoiled and think to have all the time in the world, because they had 3-4 rich customers they now believe any guy loves them and some rich guy will be their pension. Then as of their lies, cheats and ignorance, she one day realises to be 35 and it is all soon over, if hardcore she continues to do handjob massages until age 60 at a small parlour while watching facebook the rest of the day.
  11. The norm should be 40-60 baht for coke, sprite whatever, specially in 2022's economy. If you are shocked by this, get used to it, its anywhere soon enough.
  12. You can simply get a Thai education visa for the first years, then you can learn a bit of the language and culture already. If you figure out in that time to become a monk, you have the next plan ready too.
  13. Yeah its a decent buffer to have around
  14. You would be <deleted> most likely, if considering inflation over time (10-20 years from now). Try and divide your 100K by 2 again and then also consider both have to do their own renting, cooking, transport and more. Looks entirely different. Plus you might then want some company / entertainment once in a while too.
  15. Imagine your life surrounds posting about a mistake a cashier at makro made....
  16. 400-800K is 100% sure peanuts, unless you are still very young and just got started in life. Anyone who is near 40-50 should at least have 2M baht cash, that's still little.
  17. The average returns on gold in the past 2 decades, on 400K baht, are more than the agent costs are. Same time it is not bad to have 400K stashed and available for emergencies here either.
  18. How can a person even be shocked to pay 40-55 baht for a coke? Even 60 would be fine. Else you buy a big bottle from tesco or a small one from 7/11.
  19. Average rent, utilities and the like: 20K down the drain already Support for the wife: 15K down the drain more. Support for the son / school: 15K down the drain more. Visa and insurance: 5K down the drain more Personal budget: 25K down the drain more Other groceries and stuff or replacing things: 10K down the drain more Total: ~90K a month excluding money to set aside, and this is not a luxury life either. Yeah maybe if you live a single life, mostly live sober and boring, you can do it with the mentioned 40-50K. Not including a trip back home either, if doing that yearly, that alone is 10K a month average more already, in case I go alone and without the family. IMHO a realistic budget in 2022 is at least 80K and average 100-120K comfortable.
  20. This is not the real average, that is just as real as TAT talking about tourist numbers. Real averages are WAY WAY lower, they fooled you twice. Perhaps educate and read before replying 3 times in 3 minutes on something you clearly just read the classic news page update from. But i am not surprised you talk like this, this is exactly how the majority always listens and does like a sheep, and suffers in life. You live longer, so its ok, work 15 years more, we still cut your pension too anyway. Take another jab, we will tax your paid off houses more. Etc etc etc. Have fun bro ????
  21. We won't, there is shortages in minerals now already. Much wiser to keep driving bikes as of today, and improve how they perform.
  22. 100% correct, i dare to bet 100,000 baht for it right now. Educate yourself or refrain from speaking I guess. Pension ages have been designed since day 1 to be around the average age of death, that is 71 today, however for 25% males it is before 65 already.
  23. That is complete nonsense, the average MALE farang lives 1/4 to 65, 2/4 to merely 70-73 years old. The high numbers in rich countries come mainly from above average rich people too, who retire early and live comfortable lives. Not being able to retired young is only a choice, specially for those around that age, if you didn't manage to get that done you simply failed life. Just this nonsense propaganda to convince the workers to work longer, because some half baked statistics not providing you the insight details, told you you live longer, so work another 15 years. What is the point even to become 85 if you worked all of it, to then be a old bean bag with money, that you never spent. It is just funny how people do whatever they are told, without researching a thing.
  24. Just like so many have similar things like you and take a flu shot yearly, even studies now prove it never worked. Hope your still around in 1-2 years, 1 mrna shot is too much already, let alone 2-4.
  25. Landlords here think they are some half gods who we have to pay, and that that includes taking care of their taxes and repairs. No way obviously. Yes, in case you have a rental deal for years at 30-40% less than average, you might do a 50/50 replacement. Or in case there is no AC and you do want to add it but not the way you describe it. I would leave, let them feel the pain.
