@Mason45 Good advice above. I've used diclofenac over the years, sporadically, when I'd aggravated my bad back. It's not a med you want to take long term. One bubble pack (generic/made in TH or India) 10 tabs should do the trick, along with some stretching exercises. If comfort doesn't subside within those 5 days, then it's something else probably. As mentioned, if discomfort going down one of your legs, then could be a disc issue, and may also subside, or may want to seek out a chiropractor, if it doesn't. Avoid any lifting for the next week or 3.

I only do land investing now, in TH. Plus ... no taxes, or very minimal. Beats 37% capital gains, or simply high tax bracket, back in the ol' USA. Same back there, few to no taxes on RE. Of course I rarely reported any income. Been out of the market for years. Liquidated about 15 yrs ago, after the last 2 popped. 70 now, so any future land purchases are for the wife. -

Unless you are inside trading, then land & RE are never losers -
Saying that, after thought, 3 days may be enough on Phuket, maybe even too much. It's high season, so it will be packed & expensive. If not staying local, Ko Chang or Samet for island, or Khao Yai & such for hills. Maybe even Kanchanaburi or Khao Kho (Phetabun), for some hills & river relaxing. Or just a slower ride down the west Gulf Coast, Hua Hin, Sam Roi Yot, PKK, down to Thung Wua Laem (Chumphon), till bored, then return. Options abound, and I've been to all, except Samet. A day or 2 or 3 is nice at any, especially if never been.

Skydiving stunt lands 3 Americans in hot water at Bangkok mall - video

Skydiving ... yes, was fun, but Base Jumping ... Hell NO -
I agree, and I get plenty of saturated fats in other foods. Not so much mono & polyunsaturated. Already eat a fair amount of butter & cheese, along with drinking whole milk. I seem to snack a lot on Cashews & cheeses, so more than enough saturated fat with just them. CheeseCake is my 'pastry' go to, and even made a batch of EggNog this week, using heavy 'whipping' cream

"They say" ? ... folks I listen to, say the opposite. Along with providing test results backing up what they state. And my lack of inflammation, and blood work, agrees with them. I like my liver ...

I get enough saturated fat from the whole foods (proteins/meats & butter) themselves, so don't need to be adding or cooking in. Why I'm a fan of Canola oil for most cooking. Tallow if having for beef & pork, simply for the flavor.

You'll need more than 7 days to go to Phuket & back. It's about 15 hours one way, if stopping 2X each, then leaves 3 days on Phuket You got Ko Chang & Samet just down the road a bit. Gulf has been rough lately, so only good for looking at, I think. At least Hua Hin & below.

Biden’s Presidency he'll “leave office in disgrace.” by CNN Commentator

Same here, as never relied on govt assistance for anything. They're all just puppets, except Trump. Always had a job or my own work, and leaned to live within my means, and invest, instead of expensive show toys on loans. Avoided most mistakes most people make. Just as far as leaders, they all sucked, got people killed, in the 10's of 1000, to millions, by not standing up to the puppeteers. JFK found out the cost of doing that. Politicians on the federal level are just scum, and few have any morals. -

Didn't really expand coverage to those that couldn't afford it, as it was already available. Nobody is denied healthcare at a govt funded hospital. The Qs probably suck, and you'll get billed, but good luck to the hospital ever collecting. All obama did was let the lobbyist write the law to their advantage, and the true winners, as prices & profits skyrocketed. Nice for me, as soon as it passed, my one med stock popped very nicely Investing is so easy, obama = healthcare bush 2 = oil. Can't do defense contractors, as moral issue with me 🙄 -
Q#1 ... No Liking the idea about free range chickens ... for eggs. May have a coup up & occupied next month.

Does this sound like affordable healthcare to you And doesn't kick in till your bills are how much ? If you have an oops (on single plan), and go to hospital, your insurance cost $8,951 ... to simply have, then kicks in after your deductible of $7,258 $16,209 ... cost to you before you get to pay 40% of the rest of your bill So a medical oops that cost $66,209, cost you $36,209, and the insurance picks up $30,000. Here's the most bizarre thing I read. Gag clauses ... In some states, if you give the pharmacist, your health ins. card, it's 'illegal' for the pharmacist to tell you, if you pay cash, instead of using your ins., then it's cheaper than just your deductible if using health insurance Note, there are 50 states ... -
I just logged in to FID, and did a transfer of funds, my pension DD account, to 'cash management' account, and no issues at all. It did show the new balance in CM account, though didn't show the debit out of the other account. That's a first, and will probably catch up to itself in a few minutes. Last month I did get the OTP thingy, and forget what I was doing, just logging in maybe. I just FB msgr to brother, make sure he was a wake, and he just gave me the code, as I use his address & ph#. I occasionally get the 'you're international' do you agree bla bla bla, on the opening page. I enter on the 'sign in' page, and usually flawless. Only get the 'you're int'l' a couple times a year. Only transactions I do is pension gets DD, then I transfer to CM account, then ATM withdrawal in TH. Last year, the only other transaction was CC use for 2 iHerb order2. Anything else online, and it's COD. I have a few IRAs, and other 2 active accounts mentioned. They just resent my CC/Debit cards for those 2 accounts, to brother's address, and he just forwards them to me. Been with Fidelity for over 45 years, I think. Great service, and free account/ATM usage worldwide. No fees anywhere (USA / TH) when doing withdrawals. Never really had a bank account in last 45 years. Other non broker accounts were Credit Union account with airlines that I worked for. Again, great services and no fees. Better interest rates. Never had a car loan, and only 2 mortgages, and they were paid off in like 5 years, thanks to tenants. Not a fan of interest, and every spare $$$ went to paying off the principle of mortgages. Especially when the first one was about 11%. Thanks Jimmy

Carter's administration was a disgrace, not the man. I think all agree on that. There is nothing redeeming about Biden. Personally or politically. Worst presidents, in order of, in my adult life ... ... LBJ, got most Yanks killed (Nam) ... Bush/Cheney, huge human death toll, war on terror ... Obama, continuation of, bail out of stockbrokers & destroyed healthcare ... Nixon & Clinton, just plain embarrassing ... Carter, Bush & Ford, just useless ... Reagan, union busting, as much of the fault falls on the unions themselves. -

I avoid exposure as much as I possibly can. Use glass and stainless steel for water and food storage, cooking/microwaving. Transfer most things that I can out of plastic, into glass, if feasible. Try to only shop in AC'd market (Makro), so not stored in heat, though that probably doesn't help much ... keeps me cool though Reading above, I always try to wear 100% cotton, though for comfort and not other reason. Plastic definitely has it's uses & purpose, as I'm strongly opposed to paper & wood products. Especially as a replacement for plastic items. There is nothing eco friendly about cutting trees down.

Best Glucometer (blood sugar) in Thailand?
KhunLA replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Health and Medicine
Not inexpensive, but if I was diagnosed as 'diabetic' and on insulin, I think I go with a CGM. IF constantly monitoring, and adjusting one's diet, you may become un-diabetic, and not need the meds. Though it would require adjusting one's intake of pleasurable foods Actually, isn't that hard, as I've made the adjustment, since was getting close to pre diabetic myself. Even easier to do if you love CheeseCake, as homemade, and you can cut the sugar content to less than half, and won't even miss it. If anything, taste better. From your previous post, you do seem content to have meds & your sweets & starchy carbs. I've used the 'urine' litmus strips, for glucose & ketone levels, and surprisingly accurate, (tested before & after blood work results) and very inexpensive. Though probably not as accurate or precise, for what you want. LAZ ... "Easy to detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Spcific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose." -
Of the very few I watched on that list, only 4 were decent time killers, if that, and except for a couple others, (a waste of time), didn't bother with any of the others on the list, as didn't care for the plotline/subject, or get pass the trailer. Didn't see one movie in 2024, that would come even close to a recommend/must see for anyone. A few decent time killers, OK subject matter, or nice twists, but that's it. Nothing I'd consider paying ฿100 to watch at a Thai theater. Leaves me guilt free about viewing torrents. Without, I'd probably never watch any movies or TV series.

Yes ... convenience. Same reason there are bars, massage shops & 7-11s. Personally have no need or desire for the first 2, and just 7-11 comes in quite handy, when O&A
