  1. Use to hit a coffer at least once a week ... ... but now ...
  2. I don't think Nissan, Subaru or Suzuki will be around too much longer Scaled way back to markets in JP and USA maybe.
  3. I'm a hold them till it dies, or has little value, kind of vehicle owner. Like to get my money's worth out of them. In days past, USA, they died, or I killed them. Didn't sell many cars of mine, and owned more than a few. All bought 2nd with 1 exception. Here/TH, all bought new, I sell them, when I lose trust in them, and by that time, 5-7 yrs, they're only worth pocket change. Referring to my 2 Vios & 1 Mazda 2. Actually gave the M2 to the daughter, and she just sold it for 70k, and was happy to get that. Less than 200k kms on it. What a POS.
  4. With our high priced install, with the EVs, and if still driving as we do, 22.5k kms a year, I expect ROI in <10 yrs. If all local driving, and continued abuse of AC at house, then that could easily be 4-6 yrs. Our system (8kW inverter w/20kWh of ESS) is more than enough for the 2 of us, and the 2nd ESS (10kWh), was only added for getting longevity out of them, as they now rarely go below 60%. So 1 cycle every 3 days or so. They'll outlast me, if no oops, and possibly the wife. We also have 46.3 kWh of battery in the EV, if ever needed. I consider both to be 2 of the best investments I ever made. Depreciating products that will pay for themselves + ... for years to come.
  5. Nothing theoretical, as they actually test those kind of things. Theoretical would be those thinking, you may even get 10k cycles out of them. As I said, 2500 is considered conservative by many. Has nothing to do with NETA or MG, it's the battery tech that CATL (13 yrs) & BYD (29 yrs) have perfected and continue to improve over the last couple decades. Instead of pushing dinosaur technology for added profits. source
  6. Since you don't drive yours very much, I guess 20 yrs is easy. Expect battery life (conservative) of LFP chemistry. As noted at the bottom, for our MG ZS. Now put in you #s for kms per year and do the math.
  7. Now who's cherry pickin' ... that's an issue for your govt and big oil's collusion & corruption. Not my problem 😎
  8. Not my definition. For me, IMHO, BEV is an EV. Just pointed out eow's hypocrisy, of singling CH out, for listing hybrids as EV, and not the rest of the world. I don't get the practicality (redundancy) of HEV or PHEV myself, unless living where CS aren't available, or BEV is not practical for ones lifestyle. Oh yea ... they're not for everyone 🙄
  9. The have electric motors, and separate batteries to operate them. Sounds like electric vehicle to me.
  10. Those numbers are across the board for every country. Talk about cherry picking. Toyota Yaris Cross "Hybrid HEV", w/Battery: 0.77 kWh 178 V lithium-ion ... seriously, why even bother
  11. Not a harris fan, but agree, I believe in 'free speech' ... any free speech. In an appropriate setting. If they interrupted her rally, then that takes away from their message, as there is a time & place for everything.
  12. Don't know why it would be useless. We've gone up to Mae Chaem, Chiang Mai province (991 kms) and down to Betong, Yala province (915 kms). Being shy of 1000 kms each, you're going to stop a few times anyway. Especially if not just you in the car. TBH, it doesn't take much extra time, if any, to top up the BEV vs the ICE version of the same. But cost less than half to do so. ฿370 vs ฿970 to travel 360 kms.
  13. Still got some leftover JP Pork Curry ... ... so why not 😎
  14. Nice and sunny out now, though still patchy clouds, and still produced 22+kWh already. Don't export, so will only produce what's needed after ESSs are topped up. Even then, best was about 6kWh, so still a bit overcast then and not prime exposure to the panels. ESS top up before 1100 hrs, from last night (8kWh), while both ACs on (13&24BTUs). Topping up car (only 4kWh), and got the MC Q'd up to charge when that is done. And it's only 1244 hrs
  15. The cameras are nice when parking, or leaving a parking spot, though not sure if that is completely integrated on the SeaLion's ADAS system. We still have our 360° view on the MG ZS even though the ADAS is disabled.
  16. OP didn't ask cheapest 2nd hand car in 2023. Topic is NETA V Nobody knows what the depreciation will be in 10 year. Surely just pocket change, no matter what entry level car you buy. BEV or ICEV NETA V is both cheaper to by in, along with operate & maintain. Kind of rids any depreciation comparison of any under performing ICEV in 10 yrs time. As stated many times, BEV aren't for everyone, but that is what the OP asked about.
  17. Leaving the Barstool ... locally ... it's hard leaving the local area at times, or even the back veranda & front porch. View off the front porch after the clouds broke up a bit to let the sun through last night ... Don't get much tourist promo here, PKK town, except the annual Jet Ski competition. Party time this weekend ... Ao Prachuap's white sand beach looking good this AM (penicillin shot not inc). Along with final touches being put on the stage at the park ... Got the MC Q'd up, as soon as the car is topped up. They pack 'em in at surfside for the weekend market, let alone having a festival.
  18. Topic is NETA V, but whatever. Owning both Mazda2 and Vios (basically a Yaris), I wouldn't own either again, or recommend to anyone. Overpriced & underperforming compared to NETA V, besides cost to operate & maintain.
  19. Holy Buddha .... Celerio ... oh HELL NO If on budget, low buy in & operating/maintenance cost ... NETA V @ 429k, extreme budget restricted MG4 @ 699k (life time battery warranty) BYD's ATTO 3 @ 799.9k if needing more room Don't waste your money on underperforming ICE, that's just stupid. If driving 20k kms locally, and charging at home, you save about 40k baht a year by not paying for petrol. No more oil changes & tune-ups. This isn't rocket science, simple math, and in 10 ish year, the NETA V basically pays for itself, instead of costing the price of a new one, just to own and operate it, with petrol & maintenance costs of an ICEV. Who knows how long Suzuki is going to be around, as they just pulled production out of TH. This is sad, cost extra every week to drive a POS ... Celerio's 998 cc Petrol engine generates a power of 65.71bhp@5500rpm and a torque of 89Nm@3500rpm NETA V's instant performance (no 5500 rpm BS) NETA V comes with a 95hp electric motor with 150 Nm of torque.
  20. Depends how much the cut the price. I disabled the ADAS, as simply annoying when driving. Constant steering adjustment and warnings. ACC ... seem to not use it nearly as much, so no loss either. As rarely an open stretch of road here that I don't need to touch the brakes when using. Along with it disengages the regen, so would rather use that for slowing down. ACC off, I rarely touch the brakes. I does help me keep at the speed limit, when traffic is moving fast, as I'll catch myself exceeding the speed limit quite often. Not good with the proliferation of speed cameras, and actually surprised I haven't been cited on last few O&A. Most people knocking around town really don't need either. Maybe if you're a total airhead.
  21. That's quite the telling statement, aside from buy in price & low operating cost 👍 Couldn't agree more, and don't see any reason to buy an ICE
  22. That use to be my excuse also ...
  23. Geez ... easy to understand why he needed a holiday from that lot. A 27 yr old out enjoying himself. Finally had some peace & quiet for for couple weeks ...
  24. She's all over the internet also, though not allowed to post. Between her word salads & cackling, not sure to laugh or cry, if this is all the dems can come up with. They really are hilarious. Even Willie Brown is probably thinking ... "Oh GOD, what have I done ? "
