  1. Moral of story ... always ask for ID before paying your hooker. Just because they act like a consenting adult, doesn't mean they are, unless that's what you wanting, in which case ... som naa na.
  2. Thanks, and I checked after seeing your post, Car2car site, Carry 2012-2014, and you are well priced. ???? I keep tinkering with the idea of getting one, and converting a camper 'box' on the back bed. Good luck with the sale, anyone doing research will realize you're 20k below any other offers, along with being well maintained / updated. ????
  3. The anti-China folks must not own much of any electronics, and live in countries that isn't the USA, UK or member of NATO. Although TBH, don't think I know of any country that hasn't indulged in a bit of genocide. Most wouldn't be who or what countries they are today, if they didn't. Seems my ignore list grows more & more with every EV / China product thread ... ????
  4. Land office will give you the appraised value of any purchase, land and or house. Land, exact appraisal, house, exact also, I think, but will advise what you should be paying per m². Personally I haven't and wouldn't pay more, and so far, haven't needed to. Although I've sold at much higher than the appraised rate. Everything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Haven't wanted anything that bad, worth paying silly prices for, aside from new vehicles here, as silly priced, but MSRP, so can't argue, unless full up options and only then can you bargain down from that silly price.
  5. Mine (USA financial institution) ... irrelevant. Yours is the one that matters. As someone implies, but wrong, mine has no hidden cost or different exchange rate used. BkkBank incoming wires cost min/max charge of 200-500 baht. Screenshots of my bank policy, for those waiting to state it's BS:
  6. So what they are actually doing, is shortening the official name of 'Krung Thep', and not changing the name of Bangkok (Noi & Yai), which unless crossing to the west side of the river, most tourist have never visited anyway. As always, clear as mud ... ???? Or do they simply not want to confuse people even more with that explanation.
  7. Apparently he doesn't know how to use a sword either. Stabbing instead of using as a club would have resulted in a kill ... maybe. Was it a sword, or just a heavy rounded tip machete ?
  8. Reading is correct, and agree with those stating possible ... depending ... on your bank & card, and which Thai bank & branch used. I've done (inside advances) in the past, and I do now with ATM withdrawals, fee free on both ends. No hidden fee or different exchange rate as 1 poster implied. USA citizen though, and read many non Yanks, don't have that option. Good Luck
  9. Is this a self diagnosis, and when is it occuring ? Other things, such as a Hiatal hernia could be the issue (I have) and can easily be repaired if an ongoing, uncontrollable issue.
  10. Depends on your bank. Mine, I just request to wire on line, and they transfer to where ever, and it's free.
  11. GWM has been at it for 38 years, so don't think they need to copy anyone. They have a nice line up of vehicles. Just need to get the pricing down, to complete with the already established, MG dealerships here. MG's EP, ZS, & HS EV models seem to have a solid market share, and ever expanding. MG (SAIC) & GWM seem to be the only contenders in Thailand. Wuling (SAIC) and POCCO going for the low end tinker car market.
  12. Excellent news, as Iooking to get an EV (car) but pricing and current range is putting me off. Tinker cars, good ones, Wuling or Pocco, are in the 400-500k range, for around town use, but not as a second car. I really want an EV for daily around town, when the scooter isn't practical, whether rain or minor shopper. But that's a stretch, just to 'have one'. Could simply upgrade my present MG ZS to EV version, for slightly more, and start fresh with excellent EV. Waiting another year for more options, and see how things progress. Much rather have Tesla 3 or possible the newer, cheaper Tesla 2 they have in the works, but price here for Tesla is silly. Really need to get closer to USA or China pricing of EVs. With the silly pricing of EVs here vs China, with NO gov't incentives, it's going to be a long time before seeing many on the roads here. For most, the buy in prices (1 mill) are simply OTT vs many ICEs, and for others, like myself, where money isn't exactly an issue (within reason) it's hard to justify the cost, simply because you want it. Especially if a bit older, and knowing your next car, will probably outlast you. Not a bad thing, but my present car may do that also, since almost new. First time buyers, the decision is a bit easier, if having the funds. Many locals breaking that 1 mill threshold for transport, isn't an option. Tinker cars are a hard sell, as spec vs price, hard not to go with an inexpensive, practical entry level car or truck. Tinker car vs Suzuki Celerio (฿330k) is a no brainer, and gets 20 kpl. Getting around town doesn't get much cheaper, and OK for over the road, long range diving.
  13. Since in Thai section, kind of irrelevant, unless only interested in condos, which as already pointed out, not the best rental investment, since it will probably be years before tourist return, along with 'new' long term retirees. Sold 2 homes, and the only thing making a 'profit' was the appreciation of the land they sat on. Brick & mortar part, simply breaking even on that part of the ROI, and the land was the money maker. Unfortunately, without a Thai partner, not available for most folks. It is, or should be a buyers' market for condos, in which case, it's a roll of the dice as a seller or renter in next 5 to 10 years. Next new pandemic ???? ???? Sort of like wars, since profitable, they like having one every few years. Pandemic has be very profitable ... let that sink in.
  14. "This vehicle appears to have never been subject to hard use and was easily the best of many I looked at." Are you buying or selling ?
  15. It simply up to the Imm office, if they'll issue the letter of residence. Some will, and apparently, we read, some won't. The rest is easy. If you're not going to be here, then personally I'd wait until your return. Things change, sh!t happens.
  16. I wouldn't expect too much of a raise. Not exactly a history of big raises by military junta administrations. Only the Thaksins ever gave the people anything; healthcare & 2011 wage raise. They got < 7 % raise last election year.
  17. Yep, pretty sad. Same sentence (18 yrs halved to 9) was given to the Nazi up at Udon Thani that brutally stabbed his girlfriend 17 times while daughter watched. Might even be out by now as that happened 2012. https://www.thairath.co.th/content/258789
  18. Yea, the Thaksin s had to go. One gives the people Universal Healthcare, and the other raises the minimum wage from ฿215 a day to ฿300. The nerve of some people... ????
  19. No argument here. At 1-200 tourist arriving infected everyday, it's a money maker.
  20. Self explanatory, as I remember people tested positive 11th day of quarantine, when it was mandatory 2 week quarantine in the beginning. Before the silly Sandbox. https://www.mtu.edu/news/2020/09/i-have-to-quarantine-for-how-long-and-other-covid19-questions-answered.html "The virus can take between two and 14 days for someone to develop symptoms or test positive from the time they are exposed. This is called the incubation period. Many factors impact the range of the incubation period. If you were exposed on Monday the 1st and had a COVID-19 test on the 5th, only about half the people who are infected will have a positive test or have symptoms at that time. Just because you test negative on day five does not mean that you are not infected; you could still test positive up to 14 days after the exposure."
  21. Probably why I suggested ... "More need to invest in the R&D for mass production" Need to get the price under $50k USD.
  22. Looks to be the perfect solution for transport. More need to invest in the R&D for mass production. Solves all the hurdles of EV acceptance. 400+ range, more than enough for anyone, and easily 4-6 hrs on the roads here, way more than I want to be in a car.
  23. "Thousands of expats & tourists in Thailand could head to Malaysia soon" Good riddance ... bye bye. Although I'm failing to see how it's easier to stay in Malaysia if you can't even manage to stay in Thailand.
  24. I'm more of Thailand should be the model for other countries. Done everything correct, except reopening, was their only mistake. Keeping schools closed doesn't help anyone. Until that / reopening, death count was minimal. More died on the roads in 2 or 3 days. ~100 +/-, then then they reopened and we're at 22+k now. Should bring back 16 day quarantine & open all the schools. Keep everything else the same.
