  1. No, that's silly. There job sucks, usually. Especially now, as everything they do is scrutinized. Known too many days past, family especially & friends that served as PoPo. Have at least 1 nephew here that is PoPo. Also been at the hands of A-hole cops, and very few are in reality. My experience anyway.
  2. Anyone selling the labeled (black) 56L linked, the one we own, is selling old stock, according to Electrolux. OP not interested in countertop units anyway. I like them, since no bending over involved, though does eat up some counter space, along with all the other crap / appliances. Never enough counter surface area, and we have a lot 🙄 Taken up by; water kettle, grinder, coffee machine, toaster, induction 'hob', oven, microwave, slow cooker, air fryer. Along with built in gas hobs & sink/drying area The stand mixer & food processor are on the 'island' counter area. They take up 1/3 of that. I can relate to the OP wanting a full western kitchen. Thinking now, also a cabinet full other appliances; another air fryer, toaster over, waffle (w/interchangeable grill plates) maker, toastie maker, hand mixer, blender, ice cream maker ... WTF I need to buy a converted van and live out of a backpack. Park at the beach & smoke doobies all day
  3. Whoa there cowboy. I simply stated I think it's an underperformer for the price. And I did note the 1 good point, range, if needing & wanting, to go 900 kms non stop. Although as noted, if test speed was 40kph, then 900kms isn't going to work on TH's highways, unless not in a hurry. Hard to say an ICE has a good carbon footprint, environmentally friendly or cost effective/fuel efficient, though relative to other ICEV, then maybe yes. You still need to purchase petrol, so very un cost effective. I find it strange that the OP spent about 800k for a car, he apparently knows very little about. Enjoy what ever you drive, UP2U, and no, I don't have any agenda. I do wish everyone drove BEVs, for the sake of local low level pollution. Especially when I standing curbside or driving our MB or bicycle. As the exhaust is horrendous & unhealthy to breathe. Whatever works for you, as I've stated many times (apparently ignored), that BEV aren't for everyone.
  4. I think your Electrolux 56L oven may be a knock off. As that is the one I have, and really like it. If the same model. Notice that ours is discontinued, and a newer, small, more toaster over model is available. Might be the one you had/have. Suggest it might be a knock off, as we got ours from Electrolux distributor, and max temp is only 230°C. With 3 heating elements both top & bottom. Powerful fans also.
  5. That is one underperforming car. So they are calling it a 'hybrid', simply because it has electric motor. Doesn't actually run on the battery. Battery simply being intermediate conversion of 'power/energy' to electric motors. That's some really poor specs for 800k baht. Only plus being, 900 kms range on full tank, if ever needed. Engine: 2NR-VEX 1.5 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol (E20-compliant) Engine output: 91 PS (90 hp or 67 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 121 Nm from 4,000-4,800 rpm Transmission: E-CVT, FWD Electric motor output: 80 PS (79 hp or 59 kW) and 141 Nm Total system output: 111 PS (110 hp or 82 kW) Hybrid battery: 4.3 Ah lithium-ion Rated fuel economy: 26.3 km/l Fuel tank capacity: 36 litres
  6. Don't think I ever forgot to pay. Have corrected more than a few bills, in their favor mostly. Also returned too much change when given. Small vendors or cashiers. I have been undercharged, I think at times, at larger, highly profit making chains. But I'm sure it was probably on a sale I didn't notice, and hate for them to lose face if I pointed it out. Just assume they know better than myself, what the real price was
  7. Not annoy me, but do wonder why some understand me perfectly, and others haven't a clue what I said. Not like I'm in deep conversation with them, just ordering food at restaurant or simple shopping questions.
  8. Are you even in TH. So you want something with a full western kitchen. What is your budget ?
  9. Once at a restaurant at the New Jersey shore (USA), with a group of us. They didn't clue me in on that was their plan at the time. We did get to spend the night in jail, though on something unrelated. One of the best overnights I ever had. Along with one of the best times at the NJ shore. Actually the time spent in lock up ... go figure. Think I was 18 yrs old at the time, maybe.
  10. You bought a car you know nothing about, and guessing did little to no research prior. Here 'link' to owner's manual in English
  11. Took that a wee bit out of context ... did you miss the first sentence On 9/7/2023 at 8:57 AM, KhunLA said: "I handle/control the money, but she pays for everything. This way, I don't tip, as I would, and usually over tip, so not to offend anyone, either way, she pays all the time." Been married 2X here, both with large extensive families & friends, so I guess I can say I know a lot of Thais. Probably knocking on 75, maybe. But hey, what do I know. That post (mine) and follow up one (also mine) pretty much explains my 'tipping' thoughts. If misquoting me fits you spin, then have at it.
  12. Not an Apple fan, but I thought it was well done. Maybe the locals should have a word with the authority that gave permission & approved it
  13. Yea, I was liking 40 when I got here in 2000, even knocked on 46 for a short while. As low as 28 also, so 30 to 35 will have to do. Arriving just after their crash, so it, the THB could only get stronger. So anything above 35 for the USD is quite nice. The spanking from the EU for Brexit screwed y'all royally. Brexit ...
  14. To the title .... NO If present marriage ended for any reason, 'doubt' if I'd ever get married again. ... 'doubt' ... I've learned never to say never
  15. Not the Olympics, but oh look ... simply dominating what ever they compete in ...
  16. Women are usually going to lose, as stated, if sport is based on strength & endurance. Saw this, and a bunch of 'retired' soccer player, playing against, supposedly some of the best women, in their prime. Too funny ... they get spanked, and not in a good way.
  17. That was too easy ... try this ... "No one likes us I don't know why We may not be perfect But heaven knows we try But all around Even our old friends put us down Let's drop the big one And see what happens"
  18. I never think it's about THB strength, and more about other currencies weakening. Can only speak about the USD, and govt keeps printing money and accumulating more debt. That certainly has to lower the value of the USD.
  19. From a different EV thread, but more appropriate to those interested about the availability of CS in TH. https://aseannow.com/topic/1257405-electric-vehicles-in-thailand/page/258/#comment-19115356
  20. Yea, we get out and about a wee bit. Coming up on 2 years (Oct) of owning our MG ZS. These are our O&A so far. Yet to have an issue finding and charging while out. Surprisingly, yet to need to Q up at a charger. Pulled in once, and both slots were taken, but by the time we peeked at app to find the next, one slot opened up. We just got back from Rangsit, to visit daughter, and Ratchaburi, this past 3 day weekend, traveling both Sat & Mon, and surprisingly, no Qs at CS. We live about 1.5 hrs south of Hua Hin, just outside PKK municipality. Hence the amount of 'local' exploring along the immediate area/gulf coast. No need to hotel or CS, if round trip less than 250-300 kms. Which easily gets us to Hua Hin and back. Or the top of Chumphon province. First year owning, put on just shy of 20k kms, with 11k of those, I think, away from the house, requiring charging stations. Last 9 months, and more than half were put on away from the house, though only drove about 12k kms so far. Also have an E-MC, coming up on 3 years now, and that's got about 6800 kms on it, mostly short trips around town. Daily park & surf runs with the dog, weather permitting. They are only 8-15 kms. Google timeline keeps track of our journeys, or used to. I had to add 2 dots to Ratchaburi area, as no longer can pull up a 'yearly' map.
  21. Keep printing money and assuming debt and your money value goes down. Don't know about bombing. For USD, that would be <฿30 / $1, last seen Jan 2021 For GBP, maybe around the ฿38, last seen Jan 2020, or ฿39, just back at Jan 2023. Bit of a roller coaster. GBP been pretty comfy ฿40-45 the past 4 ish years. Wouldn't expect it to go lower or higher. Anything higher, simply enjoy while it last. Same with USD, seems happy ฿30-35. Higher is always nice, but usually doesn't last long.
  22. Unless of course, the VPN is operated by NSA, CIA, MI5/6, Interpol or who knows by. 2024 ... there is NO privacy Unless you drive an older ICEV, don't use a phone and or internet. And pay with cash.
  23. And here I thought this topic was about EVs. Will these ICE be put in hybrids ?
