  1. You'd think they'd give him more than a couple months before assessing his performance. The Dow or even the S&P is not an indicator of anything, unless you are invested in, which most people are not. If their pensions are, then that's long term, and probably up since they started employment, and or will be when they retire. If the company or union they belong to doesn't screw them over before hand. Comical, that most haters, aren't even Yanks, and probably close to or already retired, and anything he or the USA does, won't affect them at all. I'm a yank, and not worried about anything they do over there, as minimal effect. THB / USD exchange rate might fluctuate 10-15%, or COLA will be -0- instead of 2-3-4 or ever 5%. Oh my ... PANIC If you can't take a 0-20% hit in your finances, you've already screwed up, all by yourself.
  2. Sh!t happens ... ... IF, you don't break the law, enter countries illegally, sh!t usually doesn't happen. Next time, when released, maybe he'll go elsewhere. As will anyone else that reads or hears about his story. One can only hope. Needs a lot more press coverage. Let the world know, criminals are not welcome in the USA.
  3. If he followed the law, then he wouldn't have a problem. I get wanting asylum and leaving El Salvador. He escaped El Salvador, when (assuming) he entered Guatemala. Or he could have went to Honduras, or Belize, or Nicaragua. NO, instead, after escaping El Salvador, into Guatemala, he traveled about 2500 kms to the USA border, and illegally entered the USA. Could have legally asked for asylum in 2 countries along the way, and or, at the border of the USA, like all the other legally entering asylum seekers. But he chose to be a criminal ... ... oh well, live with our choices. I didn't illegally enter TH, and if I did, I would expect to be deported
  4. A criminal got deported. I'm not seeing an problem ... "in 2011, Abrego Garcia, at the age of 16, fled El Salvador and then illegally entered the United States" ... - wiki
  5. I actually hope it does Opinions are fine, but all the hate, stay home with that. If here, please leave
  6. I know one couple
  7. With that paranoia, guess they never eat at restaurants either
  8. A favorite of ours, if on Hwy #4, only 5 mins / 4.5 kms away. If taking scenic route, from Sam Roi Yot Beach to PKK, then you pass it on the way.
  9. Even Yoda couldn't do that ... ... and why would anyone want that Phæng māk māk
  10. After I broke a couple glass 'presses' had to go SS.
  11. Watch the 'Lord of War' ... best movie, mockumentary out there. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399295/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_lord%20of%20war
  12. Stop supplying the toys to kill each other. But where's the profit in that 5 permanent members of the "UN inSecurity Council" are some of the top weapon exporters. Making the world a better, safer place But they, the UN is always here to help ...
  13. Checked that one off ... ... now, moving down that 'bucket list' 👍 Can't say I haven't done the same, though a lot more discreet than that. On a Patts walkway ... nah, not on any of my lists
  14. I'm low tech and can't afford that fancy mug. Drink my first cup, while 2nd cup is still filtering. Use French press, then passes through paper filter. First cup fills up fast, 2nd a bit slower, and needs a reheat in the microwave. Drink them down while catching up on the world, and trolling AN, while being entertained. Get my morning comic relief, almost all in one place, before moving over to real news and educational vid programming
  15. Got me beat, as actually weighed my morning cup, 425ml. Rarely drink coffee after 1200 hrs. 28 oz = 828ml
  16. I'm convinced I know what I'm thinking, you're just guessing. A favorite AN member past time, reading into other's posts what 'you' think, not what the poster thinks. I'm a big fan of 'freedom of speech, expression & press', so should give you some clue. Apparently not.
  17. If lucky enough to even have a balcony or a window to look out I suspect many don't, considering how cheaply they tells us they can live on. Apparently a decent condo would take half their income, saving the other half for cans of Archer & fags. Livin' the Dream, although TH does seem a better choice than some cold and damn council dwelling
  18. I did an edit, before your post. If a scholar, then he should know not to 'share' false info. Doesn't matter if he wrote or not, he shared it, supposedly. He'll have his day in court. Held without bail is a bit much, as simply taking his passport would have sufficed. But then, it wouldn't have made the press, and an example must be made I know what I'm talking about, thank you. I'm not an official 'scholar', but know to tread lightly with my opinions
  19. "American scholar" ... that's a stretch. Dependent on what he actually said ... dumb A$$. edit: a bit moe info ... https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/american-is-arrested-in-thailand-on-charges-of-criticizing-royalty/
  20. A darker roast coffee might not be acidic or as caffeinated. Along with amount you're drinking. See earlier post about what your 'cup' size is. @Mason45 As suggested, dehydration, especially if sipping a few beers also in you daily routine.
