Some years ago I built a media server, using windows home server, and had about 15TB of movies and music. After a few years I realized that I actually never used it, so I used the main board and CPU for a normal windows install. The Hard disks I just removed and kept in a cabinet. So now I thought that I easily could recover the data by connecting each disk to my PC, and copy over the data. Looks as if I was wrong. From all the disks, there is just one that is accessible. With the others my PC even fails to boot up. It get to loading operating system, then get stuck on the Windows logo. Any suggestions how I would be able to recover the data from the disks?

Eva Air No more Premium Economy BKK -> AMS
peterfranks replied to MJCM's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I think flying will never be the same. I had a friend arrive just recently with Austrian airlines. 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children under 10 year, 3900 Euro. Flight from Brussels to Vienna, had to pay for drinks. From Vienna to Bangkok, for dinner got cup noodles with a glass of water, and a pudding as desert. In the morning got 2 sandwiches in foil, a la 7/11 style. That was it. -
Beware of Shopee. Scammers operating via the company!
peterfranks replied to Thorix's topic in General Topics
Anyone still waste their time with Shopee? If I order something from Lazada, when ordering early morning, big chance that it get the delivered the very next day. With Shopee, delivery is at the earliest 3 days, and the last 5 orders ALL have been later than the expected delivery date noted in the tracking details, some more than a week. So I have now resorted to simply reject the delivery each time it is overdue. Another pet peeve is that although they have an English option for their website, terms & conditions, FAQ and contact form are still in Thai only. No wonder that the mother company SEA is in deep financial troubles. -
I think you are dreaming. People in the UK who have Starlink report it cost 89 Gbp per month, for less than 100 Mbps. With an initial installation cost of about 500 Gbp Streaming IPTV or free apps, does not work. Geolocation is at your house. Sharing is explicit prohibited in the terms and conditions of the SpaceX contract, and it would also be impossible to share it with anyone outside your WI-FI range.

Paying to see the rock stars in Thailand could be risky

I rather put a record on the turntable, and look at the picture on the cover for my memories, instead of seeing some old men performing karaoke on stage -
Wise 2 step verification
peterfranks replied to peterfranks's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Thanks I don't worry too much about the reliability, but rather that they will block my account because I registered with a EU passport, but reside in Thailand. This is what Currencyfair had to say about that. -
Wise 2 step verification
peterfranks posted a topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I used to have a phone number in my home country, which I used for the Wise 2 step login, but I have no longer access to that number. Does anyone use it with a Thai number for the OTP? I had an account with currencyfair, and they blocked my account because I was residing in Thailand -
Biden unveils extreme heat plan – but doesn’t declare climate emergency

Did you see any climatologists mentioned in the article? I only see politicians and activists mentioned. -

Same here, I hate shops doing that. My understanding is they do it because they don't trust their cashiers, so they shouldn't make it the problem of their customers.

In Bangkok you still have to pay for the parking? Pattaya - Rayong - Laemchabang have parking cards cancelled years ago. Rewards you get the same without the Makro card, as they get printed at the bottom of your receipt.

Soi Buakhao restaurant charging 55 thb for a coke, opinions.......
peterfranks replied to EVENKEEL's topic in Pattaya
I'm not sure about the meaning of that phrase, but I heard WS prices are ridiculous in some places now. I have such a feeling that Pattaya is pricing themselves out of the market. -

You are repeating yourself, maybe try a graph to impress more. The same beer is sold for 60 baht and less in Pattaya bars, and they also have to pay overheads -

Thanks for the reminder I have to stay out of Bangkok, where 120 baht or over is considered normal for a beer that cost 35 baht for the bar -
Travelling with Medicine (especially flying)

I don't know if there are pharmacies in Bangkok that are cheaper than Fascino, but they have an online ordering service -
Dispute With Bank
peterfranks replied to Neeranam's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Why is it useless online? Could it be you just don't know how to use it? When you use a credit card online, you connect with the CC company, not Bangkok bank. I have had mastercard for years for online purchases, and never experienced issues -

I assume you can show them the receipts from the hospitals/pharmacies, so there should not be an issue. Sending it by courier could be more problematic if the parcel gets tagged, since you aren't there to answer any questions -
Metal vs plastic electric wall boxes

Maybe I'm confused, but looks more like a pre-historic adapter, than a faceplate to me. -

From below quote, it is clear that the current temperatures are way below those of even 62 years ago, yet they claim it to be the hottest ever.
