  1. Yes, some farangs have no clue of geography. Good they are not in the air force ????
  2. SCB showed an error early morning about 7 AM. Last attempt was successful. Bangkok Bank fails silently. Quick balance worked.
  3. Browsed through the thread and have I overlooked some keywords? Smoking, drinking, bars and all kinds of "entertainment"? Think about stopping or reducing. Seen so many guys wasting a significant part of their money for such.
  4. See answer above. I tried other branch only for the bankbook. And Kasikorn is most advanced with service at any branch. If possible have the old passport with you.
  5. Yamahato, Soi 13? Are you sure? Bet it's Yamato on Soi Yamato (also called 13/1) That the Soi is nicknamed after the restaurant says something. Must be there since ages. But that's all I can tell.
  6. When getting new ATM card or new bankbook I was never asked for proof of address. I doubt they will check visa status or the like for this occasion. BUT: Is your passport (number) still the same which is registered with the account? If not this might be an extra effort.
  7. Combine that with exploding flight prices and the total chaos at many major European hubs. A mate with wife and child was lucky having booked return flights (eco) for some 800 Euro. Price currently doubled. His trip was also quite an ordeal. Details ommitted.
  8. As writtten. No service direct to hotels. I haven't tried how well BOLT taxi work these days. That would be an option from the bus stop. Taxi services from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya (still) start at 1000 all incl. I was too lazy for the bus.
  9. No Chinese tour groups at P-Plus. Must be quite empty. That's all I can tell.
  10. And Baht still not weak enough compared to the madhouse Euro. 37.4 would have sound like a nightmare when I left Euroland.
  11. Wish them good luck fighting the almighty tycoon clan that buys up this country. It's an absolute scandal that no monopoly watch is standing up against.
  12. Haven't checked today. Saw some CH3 news hosts without in the studio.
  13. Absolutely correct. Since when is a private business a public area. The keyword is: domiciliary rights (if that is the correct legal term).
  14. Are you serious? Throwing out Russians from K.?? Kaliningrad (former Königsberg, Eastern Prussia) is a result of WWII and expulsion of German population. After that the area was Russified (87%). Polish and similar are fractions of a percent. Kaliningrad is a Russian stronghold, piling up nuclear rockets/weapons and all the nasty stuff. What you describe IS the start of WWIII. More dangerous than the Russian propaganda shout loud to close the gap (Suwalki gap).
  15. And much desired if you live on the 30th floor. Or just in the cabin between 29 and 30
  16. And that's from Sukothai? Mukdahan is in the far north-east at the Mekong.
  17. Again checked schedules from BKK and DMK and looks like nothing going late evening (after 8:30 PM). So really I don't see a chance.
  18. Arriving in Mukdahan at 4 PM and expecting to be in Phuket same day? Hell that's a challenge. Another way of saying I don't think that there is any chance. Distance is about 1500 km, 20 hour drive on the road. The closest airports are 2 to 3 hour drive away. Haven't checked the schedules. But simply no way. Realistic: drive to Khon Kaen, overnight and continue with (connecting) flight next morning. Connecting: next non-stop is not before Friday from Khon Kaen.
  19. Contains medical advice about substitutes.
  20. Shell will always have good explanations why their fuels are special. More mileage, longer motor life.... Some magic technology/add-ons etc. My car hasn't seen Shell or Esso in 135000 km. Still running fine.
  21. When will this clan have bought the whole country? Competition? What's that? I love monopolies.
  22. What a difference head- vs tail-wind makes. Vancouver to Bangkok scheduled flight time 15:55 hours (uff). Thailand to Canada 13:05 hours. Small detour avoiding unfriendly airspace. (errors excepted, Vancouver 15 hours after Bangkok in Winter)
  23. Dirty farang again. And some still believe there is no xenophobia in Thailand.
  24. Works fine 500 km away (I am logged in user) 45 Baht shipping crossed out. Can't confirm general statement 95% not work. Absolutely not true. If you say 95% of orders are not free shipment: maybe. Often there is a lower limit specified for free shipment. Nothing unusual.
