    Important if you look for a (domestic) flight with Thai/Thaismile. Until Dec 16 Thaismile booking is still fully operational even for flights after this date. Don't rely on searching Thai Airways website, as flights may not yet show up there. (checked this and saw the usual four flights BKK-KKC while Thai Air says "not found") Confusing result of the reintegration of Thaismile.

    Thai smile air booking is still fully operational until Dec 16 and for my route BKK <>KKC it shows the usual four flights e.g. for Dec 20. Thai Airways showed no flights found for some dates!!! There is no word of any flights been taken down. Defunct is not the word. It's reintegrated.

    Divorce or run away is enough (she has to join for application). No one wants to think the worst. But in the sad case she dies you have to immediately care for legal stay whatever way because extension is void.

    I neither like the under consideration period (another burden interfering with your own schedule trips or the like. nor photos of house, with wife, in room etc. Two trips to immigration (200 km roundtrip). Nor do I wait for home visits. Extra run to district office for marriage status certificate etc. etc. Retirement usually much easier .

    If you have the money for retirement extension (not visa) and no ambitions to work then this is by no doubt the easier option. Cost for the extension as such is identical 1900 Baht. Difference can result from documents needed. Two trips to immigration for marriage extension.

    Interesting that a little detail is missing in this report. His wife is Thai and after the dust had settled she continued her flight to Bangkok. (as read in German tabloids) I think the furious German will have to break his piggy bank to compensate the damage.

    I though people with 700/800 k Baht a month (>20000 USD) would live in Miami, Cote d'Azur or wherever except Pattaya. The poorer ones with half that money maybe in Ko Samui I never stop learning.

    And for those who plan/know that they will travel, always get at least a single re-entry right after doing your extension. Even in Chaeng Wattana this should be doable same day?

    She is not living in Pattaya? Passports are usually sent to the address where she is registered. Don't know whether and how it can be sent to another address.

    Thai passports can not be extended. She needs a new one. The passport office had moved from The Avenue to ? Was it Central on the beach? Getting new passport takes a few days when sent by EMS. In urgent cases go to Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok. Morning to afternoon service for a surcharge.
