September 4, 20178 yr Has anyone had this done in Thailand? I think I have uncovered a plastic surgeon at Bumrungrad and 2 at Pattaya/Bkk Hospital who can do this procedure... recommendations welcome.
September 4, 20178 yr Dr. Niyom at Bumrungrad and likely (but not sure) Dr. Anna at BPH. Of the two, Dr. Anna has the most experience/expertise with skin cancers but you need to verify she is trained in MOHs.These are both dermatologists. I don't know of any plastic surgeons trained in MOHs.
September 5, 20178 yr Author Hi Sheryl - Thank you for the response. I was hoping for others but I guess one good one will do the trick. I saw Dr. Vachiraporn in CM, she is recently returned. It is a bit too big and I guess being on my forehead, it will require a plastic surgeon. I have emailed and sent photos along to Dr Niyom at Bumrungrad and will contact Dr. Anna as well. When living in Bkk, I had used BPH [or is it BNH?] on Soi Convent and found them to be terrific every time. Thank you - Ken ps - part of the reason for my wanting Moh's is that it does not seem to require a general anaesthesia...

September 7, 20178 yr Unless there is reason the think the lesion is very deep, would indeed usually be done under a local. On the face, and large, you will indeed want a plastic surgeon. Where in Thailand are you based?
September 7, 20178 yr Author Hi Sheryl - thanks for your concern - the lesion does not appear too deep based on the pathology as well, but it is a rather wide circle of about 1 cm in diameter. I would have gone down to Bkk if they had Moh's Surgery but otherwise, not sure it is worth the trip. I am in Central Thailand and have contacted the plastic surgeon at Phitsanuvej Hospital in Phitsanoluk which seems to have the best reputation in the area. It is a bit of a trip for me, but better than heading into Bkk for what would likely have to be a few days... I would just love to put this all behind me - thanks again.
September 7, 20178 yr KenK24...I would be so careful with that attitude, I do know how you feel. Your tired the whole thing is getting you down..wearing you down...(even if your opp is covered) BKK is still expensive...etc...etc. Twice I have made the same decision & both times I have to live with the the results of that decision of doing something in Essan---both bad, ---basically of taking a less medical care route, because I was worn out with the whole tripping up & down thing. Your best medical treatment is in BKK especially as we are talking about your face...try to summon up the strength to try and do it that way KenK24. This is not the UK or America...where sometimes one will find a brilliant surgeon living way out in the country side because he likes that life style. Most surgeons are there because they cant make it in BKK. Best of luck with it all KeK24
September 7, 20178 yr This plastic surgeon at Bumrungrad is very good, and very conscientious. https://www.bumrungrad.com/doctors/Teerasit-Sripanidkulchai
September 7, 20178 yr "Most surgeons are there because they cant make it in BKK." That's your opinion. My opinion is that it's BS. Terry
