Pick-up/4x4 hire in Chang Mai

Am looking to rent a pick-up/4x4/Hilux type in Chang Mai in November for a couple of days to drive up to Pai (and stop off at places along the way), wheres best to rent from please?  Also, anything in particular I should look for regarding insurance etc?

 

I've navigated Pattaya on scooter many times so am confident on Thai roads

I picked up a Vigo 4x4 from Budget at the airport. Good service, fairly new and well maintained truck and it also had the 'Carryboy' back so great for keeping bags and shopping dry and secure.

 

Try this for insurance.

 

Watch out for vehicles not staying on their own side of the white lines and overtaking blind. That includes stuff overtaking you as well as coming at you. Don't save money getting a manual box unless you really like one arm/leg only workouts.

I recently rented a pick-up from "North Wheels" by the moat.

 

It already had so many scratches and dents on it that there was no chance they would have noticed if I had made a few more.
