The Metropolitan police have now known the identity of a lone robber who robbed the Thanachart bank’s Bang Khlo branch on Rama 3 road and escaped with 200,000 baht in cash on Sept 7.

Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn said the police last night (Sept 8) retrieved the motorcycle which the robber used and abandoned in an undergrowth off Soi Sathupradit 6.

Forensic police have collected fingerprints in the motorcycle and evidence in the vicinity for examination.

He said the man visited the bank one day ahead of the robbery and stayed there throughout the day without doing any activities with the bank.

A rather strange way to case the joint. Amazing Thailand indeed !

"He said investigators now knew his identity after several witnesses have identified him.  He added the police would be able to arrest him in the next few days."

No point in rushing, is there!  Being that it's been anounced that his identity is known, he's not likely to be at home, waiting.  Having said that, TiT, anything is possible here.  Best call him first to save a wasted trip.

Sanit said they would arrest him in the next few days.:cheesy:

Well coming from him, that means he needs time to get his hair done and manicure, because as everyone knows Sanit loves his photo to be taken when arresting criminals.

True, plus there is always a delay in arrests as police need to check for any hi-so connections, lesson learned after the KT fiasco when original cop in charge had to be removed after first pinpointing a very likely suspect without checking connections!
