An Indian businessman was killed when his car crashed through the concrete wall of a house in a housing estate in Pathum Thani province late Tuesday night.

The dead man was identified as Mitesh Kumar Singh, 32, who owned an electric appliances shop near Wat Nawong behind the Mueang Ek housing estate in Muang district.

Police said the car crashed into a wall on Soi Thaksin 5 of the Mueang Ek estate and the man died behind the wheel.

Local residents said the car was speeding into the soi and the front lights were not turned on. They heard a loud noise at 10pm. When they rushed out, they saw the car had crashed through the wall. They said they did not hear any sound of braking.

The dead man’s brother, Brijesh Singh, told police that the deceased lived near Wat Nawong and he could not fathom why his brother had driven into the soi, which was far from his home.
