In the market for a new 42-49 inch TV under 20,000 baht.

Featured Replies

I'm a bit of a luddite, what should I be looking for, LED I assume? Don't want a Smart TV necessarily, do want HD though. Are they all pretty much the same in the 15,000 baht range?

Look for UHD models, most of them are below 20k for 49 inch

Is there anything broadcast on Thai television or cable that would benefit from a UHD TV?

Our next will be a FHD cheap TV without smarts to attach an Android box to. Probably a TCL or cheaper as they seem to be throwaway consumable these days.

We have an older Sony 55,000THB, a LG 36,000THB LCD that just packed up on us and cheaper to buy a new better spec model than repair.

Yes i just bought a 42 Inch  LG for under 10,000 baht from Lazada Thailand

Go there If you find something you like then order it But use there

COD Cash on Delivery option ITs the safest

Took about    7 days to deliver to me

I am very very happy with it

So yes you can buy one for under  20,000

Some iptv providers broadcast in 4K and if you are a gamer the PS4 Pro has a 4K output.

The LG 4K tv we have upscales 1080i to near 4K.

I'd buy the largest screen you can afford.

I'm already looking to go from 65" to 75".

Only want it for the bedroom, so 42-49 inch is more than big enough.

i can remember moving from the normal 21" to 28" and being amazed

Then went to a state of the art 32" instead of a 40"

Finally got a 42" but keep saying i must get at least a 49" or 55"

How times change!!

Lots of options on Lazada. Stop by a few electronic/home stores. Lots of options there as well.

While not much is filmed or broad cast in 4k it will be coming. (mostly sports World Cup football,

and Olympics) 4K TV's are really not much more than HD models. I prefer Samsung. I would not

pay the Sony "name" premium. That said I really thing some of the lesser known "no name" brands

are exceptional value and should not be dismissed out of hand. As far as I am concerned TV's

are cheap as chips for what you get. Plenty of great quality options in your snack bracket.

Just step into a couple of shops and have a look. If you are going to compare models from

shop to shop Lazada snap a picture of the model number on your phone so you can keep things

clear in your head.

Cheers. Next step is to visit Numchai and have a look at what they have.

You may want to double check it has a digital tuner although this is becoming standard.

Number of HDMI inputs too, it will depend how many things you will want to plug into it at the same time.

(Cable box, DVD player,laptop etc).

Tesco had some really good prices when I was shopping for one. Sadly when I got the cheap thing home the picture looked rubbish compared to my big, more expensive lounge TV.

Yes. And you can always tell your wife it's bigger.
