A husband trying to get back together with his wife went armed to find her at her parents' house.

There he shot her dead and both her parents. But a little girl shot in the leg survived. The shooter then turned the gun on himself.

Khok Kham, Samut Sakhon, police who arrived at the house in Suan Palm housing estate in Muang district Tuesday found a horrific scene in a downstairs bedroom.

In the room amid a large amount of blood they found four people dead. These were Yerm, 67, his wife Somporn, 60, their daughter Waleerat, 33 and their son-in-law Woradech, also 33.

They recovered two .38 guns and one 9mm. Outside the bedroom were more blood trails and a lot of shell casings.

They also found a girl aged 3 shot in the leg. She was not identified.

Yerm and Somporn's son Issaraporn, 37, said that the shooter was Woradech. His sister had left him a month ago but he kept threatening her. His sister also had a problem with Woradech's mother.

Neighbor's said that Woradech had arrived at the house and demanded to be let in calling outside for ten minutes.

He had then vaulted the fence and when no one let him in and after more shouting he kicked in the front door.

Some five minutes later there were shouts and about ten shots rang out amid anguished cries for help. They could then hear the sobbing of a female.

Woradech then came out and went to his car before returning to the house. Two more shots rang out and then it was all quiet.

Khok Kham police chief Pongsak Sapla-or said it appeared to be a case of a spurned husband who tried and failed to get back together with his wife.

Investigations continue.

A total tragedy for all involved, apart from the coward doing the shooting.

A waste of so many lives, all over the common theme of some, insecure Thai man, not being able to accept rejection.

R.I.P. to the innocent victims, and best wishes for the injured 3 year old.

And some people say law abiding citizens should not be allowed to posses firearms.

Police slow to respond? Go to the door and shoot the scumbag in the face, sorted.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

Even better if nobody has guns, ever wondered why there are around 150 murders in the Netherlands on a population of 16-17 million. Because we don't allow people to have guns. Compare that to countries like the USA.

"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."  And that is Police work but unfortunately they were not there to stop this idiot.

RIP parents, hope the little girl recovers quickly and finds a caring home and condolences to families and friends of the deceased.

No.

It’s a case of a violent thug who couldn’t take rejection.

Maybe time to ban gun ownership in Thailand - they have obviously proved that they cannot be trusted with them.

Maybe it is time to ban gun ownership WORLDWIDE.

Humans have obviously proved that they cannot be trusted with them.

I think he could be right there's states where everyone is expected to own a gun and ammo. Apart from a few exceptions. There overall crime he's declined. And seems to be below the American average

Nice thought Richard. When they cant even enforce a law to stop people from riding in the back of pick-ups what chances do you think they have of bringing in and enforcing a law to stop people buying guns? Even if they did and looking at the powerful police force they have here people will take no notice of it. The black market will thrive more

Tragic loss of life through yet another moron. I hope the young girl recovers. Her own pain will be enough for her to remember but if she saw the other murders too...what a terrible memory to carry around for the rest of her life.

Disagree. IMO it's something in the US cultural makeup that causes their problem.

Anyone in NZ can get a gun licence to own rifles, including a .50 cal as long as they pass a police check. The average rate of gun deaths is 8 a year.

On that basis people worldwide should be banned from almost everything, as they have proven they can't be trusted with almost everything.

When trying to get back together with one's wife it would be better to bring a bunch of flowers, rather than a gun. Actually (according to the OP) it was 3 guns. Clearly, his intent was to kill them all.

Fortunately, we do not have to debate whether or not he deserves the death penalty.

The killer was so deranged and angry at his rejection, that even if guns were banned, he would have gone to the house armed with a crossbow, machete, garden hoe whatever. The gun fired the bullet, the killer fired the gun.  He set out with the sole purpose of brutal revenge on his wife and her family. Fortunately he had the sense to kill himself as well.

RIP to the victims.

Just a psychopathic oxygen thief!

And how could Khok Kham police chief Pongsak Sapla-or think it appeared to be a case of a spurned husband who tried and failed to get back together with his wife? I would not think that an ordinary decent human would be seeking a re-instatement of a marriage by carrying a gun/s to a meeting. Where do these Police get their training? A pitiful piece of reasoning. :post-4641-1156693976:
