I recently ,finally bought my first iphone  . Actually a Samsung . Before I was using just a small cell phone. My service is AIS.All I really the phone for is calling. The new one is nice because there is a camera. And  more importantly the voice quality is much clearer and stronger esp. when calling overseas. But here's the problem. Before, on the old small cell, when I bought minutes and would top it off it would only use the minutes for the calling aspect.  Now on the new one it's charging me daily for internet.I don't use it in public places. ,only in my condo where I have internet provided to me, which I pay for. I put 300baht in the phone less than a week ago and it's nearly gone .I tried explaining to AIS I only want the minutes to be used for the phone , I don't want the ''internet package'' . They don't understand. Maybe I have to do something on the phone itself? Can anyone give me some advice ...It's just wasting money for nothing, It's Galaxy J2 Prime.  Thanks

Go into the Settings on the phone, Network, look for Cellular, then turn off Data connection under Cellular Data.

The actual names in the settings may be different, but you should be able to find DATA CONNECTION under CELLULAR to turn it off.

Moved to Mobile devices subforum (nothing Chiang Mai specific).

Such questions surface from time to time.

I am not even aware that AIS has packages that "auto reload/refill" on prepaid?

I might be wrong.

Enter this to check whether and what package you have:

*121*32#<send>

What does it say?

If you don't find the "mobile data off" setting on the phone you can switch off all internet at AIS with this:

*129*1#<send>

http://www.ais.co.th/postpaid/custom-page.aspx?language=en&furl=on_off_internet

Be aware that the wording on the site is confusing!

"Activate the service" means turning mobile data off!!!

Be aware that a smartphone might consume a considerable amount of internet/mobile data without you doing anything actively.
