Mae Hong Song governor Suebsak Iamwichan led Red Cross Society officials to visit flood-affected hill-tribe people and survey damages in Bang Huai Sua Thao in Tambon Pha Bong of Muang district on Sunday.

The village was hit by flash floods on Thursday, resulting in three completely ruined houses and two partially damaged homes. Goods in three shops were swept away in the floods and a bridge to the village damaged.

Officials brought 33 relief packages to flood victims, while the Red Cross Society said they would build three homes for those whose houses had completely collapsed and ensure related agencies repaired the partially ruined homes.

Villagers had already set up a temporary bridge. The Tambon Pha Bong Administrative Organisation is expected to repair the damaged bridge.

Very sad, but sounds like no injuries.

Was in Mae Sai on Thursday morning, went to have lunch at our favourite noodle shop by the river and it was 3ft underwater. A lot of rain in the 3 days we were up there and on the way up and down.

Bangkok will be getting this run off in November I would think.
