Honda Car Insurance

Featured Replies

Have just received what appears to be a renewal advice for my wife’s Civic RS …but it’s not due until sometime next March when the car is a year old!

The 'quote' is 25,520thb and values the car at 930K …

Also there appears to be this ‘Honda FINE’  thing which if I understand correctly could add another 3Kthb for Fine  3.

We normally insure our cars for just two drivers and as now we also have car cams so maybe able to get some reduction.

The initial cost seems high …is it?   Is this early advice normal with Honda Car Insurance? ... We normally use Bangkok Insurance …………… thanks

a bit early for a renewal letter, just wait and shop around, you should get cheaper.

A friend has a Honda Civic. The first year's insurance is usually paid for by Honda. Get a broker and you will get better and cheaper insurance through a company like AXA. Same story when I bought my Toyotas, you will get the renewal notice early.

Most other insurance companies will offer you between 22,000 to 26,000 thb. Reason: many honda civics on the roads and top in their class for accidents (drivers' faults, not the car) in combination with expensive parts. This is coming from our rep at Bangkok Insurance who my wife's family been with for over 20 years. He offered me 24,000 THB (first class) and a value of 800,000 THB on a civic EL.

Thanks ... probably stuck at that price then ... I will ask Bangkok Insurance for a quote though ... as it's not our only car I don't think we need any of the FINE.

Yes it is extreemly quick...if I had realised just how quick I may have suggested something else for here ...anyway it's your fault ... you recommended it!!

I recommended it, because it's the best car in its class ;-) nothing comes near in Thailand. Anyone recommending a Ford 1.5 is crazy as they are all built before last year July and have been standing still at the dealers or the car pools.

You are exactly right ... streets ahead of the Ford and Mazda ... we 'fight' for who drives ....

FYI, I have gotten the final quote from him just now. Quite a surprise.

5,000 THB deductible (my request).

30% discount for no claim in the past 4 years (including my old PJS).

Another 10% discount for family buying (all our cars are with Bangkok Insurance, +-10 cars at our house right now)

Another 5% discount (special)

New price 12,771 THB not including Por Or Bor. I think that's a good deal ;-)
