Drury is just haunted by the knowledge that he will never best* Wostenholme's "they think it's all over  ...   it is now!"

* occasional use of Yankee vernacular is accepted here?

Phil is fine in my book. Has some interesting insights on defensive stuff and his Mancunian accent doesn't grate with me (fellow northerner) like a Brummie or Cockney accent might - even though I've lived in Warwickshire and London.

If he was a lady commentator I'd want him to be Geordie, but I have a thing about cute Geordie lasses:smile:

Bury; home of the black pudding, Kieran Trippier and Burmunians.

Used to go up there for cheap drinks and fight at Sol Viva, I think it was called. 1 Pound drinks and plenty scallies up for a kicking.

I was living around Prestwich at the time, straight up Bury New Rd.

What accent you got then Bob?

I guess the closest you might know is Wigan, but it's closer to a Chorley sound,  we say "like" at the end of everything, or "ya know", crossed with an Australian (that part is just me) ?
