I just wanted to put this warning out as a separate post. If you’re changing a broken screen on your phone in a Thai repair shop you most likely will be replaced with a fake one even if you payed for original.

On the first photo you can see my original screen (broken). On the second photo - the new screen that was replaced (dull colors and less bright). Both phones are on maximum brightness.

I’ve noticed that this also happened before when I tried to replace the screen on my Samsung phone a year ago, so I knew what I needed to look for. Unfortunately, most people bring in completely broken screens so they can’t compare.

If you want to get your original bright screen back, you need to find a way to send you phone to Bangkok to an authorized service center.

Looks like all Thai shops source their screens from some crappy dealer which labels them as "original" even though they are not.

Why didn't you go to the local Samsung Service Center? Afraid to be charged the price of an ...original screen, or what?

Main Road from Chaweng to Bophut traffic lights, about 1km. before the lights, left hand side. Very kind and helpfull, also in English.
