A 36-year-old woman, who had shot and injured her estranged husband and killed his female friend at their Eua Arthorn flat in Bangkok on Friday, faces four serious criminal charges.

Suspect Korawan Pipatjirakunchorn reportedly confessed to the charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, carrying a weapon to a public place and illegal possession of a gun. She will be brought to Min Buri Provincial Court today to apply for a detention order.

Korawan allegedly shot the victims in their flat in Ram-Indra Soi 117 at 6am. Korawan’s husband, Pathumwan District Court litigation official Adulwit Pipatjirakunchorn, 39, sustained a gunshot in the stomach and two gunshots on his hand. He was rushed to Nawamin 1 Hospital where he is recovering. The female victim, Pathumwan District Court official Wiranpat Charoenwichayapreuk, 31, sustained a fatal gunshot in the chest. A stray bullet also hit Wiranpat’s 57-year-old mother Muay Onthaisong.

Korawan had reportedly waited since 4am in front of the room, where Adulwit stayed with Wiranpat and her mother for a month, and pulled the trigger when they opened the door at 6am.

Korawan fled the scene by hailing a taxi and later reached Pinklao Bridge. She tried to commit suicide by jumping off the bridge but survived.

A passing boat driver Thanawat Rian-ngam along with policemen and soldiers rescued her.

Police found in her purse a .38 pistol and 30 bullets, which she claimed to have bought via Internet.

Korawan told police that when she found out Adulwit, who did not return home for a long while, was dating Wiranpat for over a month, she was enraged. She ordered a gun and ammunition from an online shop. She said she only intended to hurt her estranged husband but the bullet also hit Wiranpat, so she fled to commit suicide to avoid punishment. Korawan apologised to the dead woman’s family.

I am a single guy who has never been married. On occasion I have succumbed to

persistent  requests to accompany me home. Apparently I am a "hansom man".

The ladies are not concerned if I am married to a western woman, but they are cautious

in case I am married to a Thai woman. They all fear the wrath of a Thai woman.  They

tell me "Jealous Thai woman crazy".

Raised on Thai soaps and living their lives absorbed by angst.  Thai women like their men are likely to react to anything by a violent knee jerk reaction.  What I have noticed is that in Thailand, time doesn't heal a broken heart, it festers and grows until eventually it results in someone losing it!

I'm always curious how people use guns, but "didn't mean to hurt" someone, or "didn't mean to kill" them.. too many movies watched where bullets are just flesh wounds. And how did the bullet which went through husband's stomach end up in the other womans chest? she must have been following him on her knees!
