Video: Public outrage as shocking footage shows security man dragged under the wheels of doctor's car

Friends of a security man now at death's door have posed a question to a doctor who ran him over and dragged him 20 meters along the tarmac.

"Doctor, do you consider a security man to be a human being?"

CCTV footage showed the car - driven by a doctor attached to the department of public health - running over the security man who had been closing a gate against traffic.

The guard was shown under the wheels of the car. The driver makes no effort to get out.

He just keeps going over the man dragging him along the road.

The guard is in a coma after two operations on his brain to try and save his life. He was named as Somchai "Nat" Yamdee who also works at the department of public health. He is usually stationed at gate 4 but was on his way to gate 2.

Reporters at the scene noticed damage to a pillar and the gate itself. The front of the car was seen severely dented.

Friends of the victim issued a statement saying that Nat had been in his job for four years and always helped others.

They said that the driver of the car is a famous doctor:

"Does the doctor think that a security man is a piece of trash?", they asked Daily News. "Does he think that he is actually a human being? How can he help the sick if he does this?"

"What is his heart made of?," they continued amid fears that the status of the doctor would make it possible for him to avoid the rap.

Colleagues of the victim heard his cries and are believed to have witnessed the car dragging their friend along the road.

The incident happened on Friday.

The department of public health identified the driver as Dr Yorn Chiranakhon, who reportedly refused a breathalyser test at the scene, despite admitting his involvement in the accident.

Police said they will charge Dr Yorn with drunk driving, reckless driving and causing injury.

Posters on the Facebook page of The Clip from Hong Phak Raiwan Soi Udom Suk 51 were appalled at the incident.

Many called for the doctor to be immediately barred from practice.

So he was taken to a hospital for a blood test, yes?

Oh, my, a 'famous' Medical Doctor, with a fat job at the department of public health, that's quite up-up in the 'elite''s pyramid, mind you! For such people (doesn't need to be the Red Bull 'boss'), that security man is 'trash', nothing more than a soi dog, hits it, drags it along, doesn't stop, flees the scene, refuses a breathalyser...!

Has he been arrested at once and jailed, forced at once to undergo a bloodtest...?

Erm, ...NO, 'Police said they will charge Dr Yorn', nough said, that will be it, maybe 1/2 a million to the widow(?), a slap on the wrist, and Dr Yorn will go on with his elite doctors' life, just cursing CCTV cameras, and being more carefull where any around, complaining to the hi-so friends he socialises with about that moron of a guard who ran under the wheels of his car, even damaging it, can you imagine... TiT

That is absolutely disgraceful. I can not believe that any driver could do something so awful.

Drunk? off his trolley to even get close to that driving. Charge him with attempted murder, cos that is what that was.

Even the Red Bull "Boss" wasn't that brazen.

That’s pretty disgusting for anybody, but for a medical doctor to do something like this is beyond belief. I hope that he spends a lifetime in a jail. I suspect however that he’s already shaved his head and booked his room in the Temple ... throw a few bucks at the guard’s family ... and back to work a week on Monday.

He does not have to undergo a bloodtest.Refusal to have a bloodtest taken will automatically result in being considered under the influence

by a court of law.

No indication at all from the OP news report that the Dr. has even been arrested and/or detained in custody in the wake of the hit-and-run...  Perhaps the police are waiting for the good Dr. to visit the local police station as a time of his convenience, as is often their MO with prominent types.

This is utterly disgraceful and inexcusable. It is an example of the unbelievable consequences of a society whereby responsibility and accountability remain sorely wanting.

The lack of humanity evident in this video clip is frightful, it is shocking, and for many of us who've spent any time here it is a recognizable response to the total disregard some have for others.

It is damning that such a beautiful country with so many wonderful people can so readily fall foul of the inexcusable and completely irresponsible actions of a few.

That the motorcyclists rode on by without doing anything also speaks volumes of the carelessness for others.

It is so easy to comment so negatively when we see videos such as this, it is such a disappointment that for many who've been tainted by their years in Thailand that the assumed result will be some form of pay off, a public apology, sometime in a temple and a reduced sentence... I hope I am wrong, I fear not....

While no society can prevent these events their frequency can most certainly be reduced. It is truly depressing when behavior such as this could be stamped out in a matter of years with effective law enforcement and uniform consequences for those at fault.

The authorities (and 'Boss' himself) are hoping that everyone will forget about his crime and move on to the next outrage.

Hopefully, people will continue to mention this POS in the context of road deaths and flight from justice at every available opportunity. With any luck it might prompt someone to hunt him down and make him answer for his crimes (those that have not been allowed to expire).

Apologies for going off topic.

Nothing surprises me anymore firstly the act that killed the security guards, Secondly, no breath or blood was taken. Thirdly Doctor has not been arrested. Speculated fourthly the doctor will not even go to court

Why?  He gets charged anyway and assaulting him in the way you suggest would do nothing but help him in court.

If he gets away with it (and I fully expect him to) it won’t be because he was forced to give blood.

He can't be forced to give a blood sample against his will, so probably not, but by not providing a sample he will automatically be charged with drunk driving, as reported.

Try to read posts before repeating another’s reply.

seen in,  all it's glory,   and soon to be crowned the worst in the world.

and he is a member of the caring profession,  a Doctor  !!!!!!!!!!!

Thailand the world Hub of Dangerous,  Murderous  selfish Drivers and Riders.

A situation that has been created and permitted to carry on for years and years on the roads,  from the shameful authorities of Thailand.   The police should shoulder most of the blame for this unaccessible carnage on the roads.

you truly are the worst. :bah:
