Two market bosses were let go by police are firing their weapons into the air in a dispute at a Bangkok market.

The Lat Prao cops decided that no one was hurt and the guns were legally owned so they let the shooters go home.

The incident was caught on video and was widely viewed on social media, reported Daily News. Weera Soireuang, 31, had gone to collect a 100 baht market stall fee from a female "Thot Man" (fried fish cake) seller.

But an argument broke out that led to a fist fight with the husband of the trader.

Weera couldn't compete so he went to fetch a gun and his elder brother Somporn came back with a weapon too.

Each brother fired one shot in the air. The incident happened at the Media Market in Lat Prao Soi 101 yesterday evening.

Police arrested both brothers and their Canik 55 9mm and Smith and Wesson .38 guns.

They were charged with having weapons and ammunition in a public place and discharging the guns without due cause.

The guns were found to be licensed and legally owned.

The men were released as police said the scuffle was minor and no one had been hurt.

Only in Thailand! I don't know how they got the guns legally as neither seem to be of sound mind, but once you pull them out and start firing them, to be let off without penalty is just a joke. Those bullets fired in the air will come down somewhere and they are lucky someone wasn't in the path.

Gotta wonder how much money changed hands for that outcome?

With video and social media, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Blogosphere shame the government into forcing the BIB to re-arrest them (or, just as likely, arresting whoever posted the video besmirching the country's reputation).

Had someone got hurt with this stupid act, that would have been

a completely different ending for the baboon brothers...

no more mai pen rai, they would be charged, and not waltzing home

like now....

Maybe someone got hurt indeed, but unfortunately they will never find out.

Just wondering why someone just dropped dead a few blocks away.

Market bosses?.. more like loan sharks / mafia types. However money will probably change hands monthly to allow extortion etc to continue undisturbed.

The 100 Bant is the Rental charge........according to the Daily News
