I needed to have my UK passport notarised and had real problems finding reputable one in Chiang Mai.

However I found http://www.thailandnotaryservice.com/  ([email protected]) based in Bangkok - who did the whole thing, 1,000 baht, using a scanning of the passport sent by email and then a Skype call to confirm physical ID.

The person I dealt with, who owns the firm, is called Pawat (perfect English with a Masters degree in law from Edinburgh University) thoroughly recommended call him 063 267 4217

When it comes to the United States nothing any longer surprises me - or surprises much of the rest of the world too I imagine.

But in the United Kingdom (and I assume the rest of the EU) these Notarised documents are perfectly acceptable

I used a lawyer at the mall next to The Shine. He seemed to take his job serious and I doubt he would have notarized a passport over Skype.

This was 3 years ago, so I do not know if he is still there.
