Somtamnication Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Lucky. The escalator death videos on youtube are really really scary.
PAIBKK Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Maintenance ??? A word that can't be found in any Thai dictionary Google has it (<<<<Thai language removed>>>> what is meaning: repair in English). So Thai logic: To do maintenance it must be broken first !!! Thai -> English and Thai -> French (Falang-say) translation on a sticker in our elevator it was written: (now a new company that never shows up when the elevator breaks down) - in English: Four main tenant call 6602..... - in French: Quatre maintenant (French: 4 now) prénom (French: first name) 6602... It sounds unbelievable but I can prove it with a picture on my old phone.

Yes, that one video of the lady and her child at the top of the stairs, that the staff knew was defective, had attendants there. I hope that lady is reborn as a saint for the way she acted as she handed off her child as she got pulled down into the machine

The Thai verb for "to maintain" in this sense is <<<<Thai language removed>>>> . <<<<Thai language removed>>>> means to take care of or assist, and <<<<Thai language removed>>>> appended to it conveys the sense of ongoing care. The translation you cite starts with the word <<<<Thai language removed>>>> , which means to repair, and is also acceptable in Thai usage but throws the translation machines out of whack.
seahorse Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Moderator a little over-zealous on this one. 1 hour ago, Puwa said: The Thai verb for "to maintain" in this sense is <<<<Thai language removed>>>> . <<<<Thai language removed>>>> means to take care of or assist, and <<<<Thai language removed>>>> appended to it conveys the sense of ongoing care. wakeupplease Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Never mind the escalator, its the planes that scare the hell out of me in this neck of the woods. We all know the word maintenance is not in their vocabulary as money talks here. just imagine a wing falling off at 30 thousand feet. Give it time
