Medics and nurses from the Koh Lanta First Standard clinic rescued a 60 year old French national who fell while walking on the island of Koh Ngai.

Eric Gabriel Briant suffered a fracture of his left ankle after he went for a walk on a mountain path yesterday evening. He slipped and fell after stepping on a loose rock.

It took three hours to get the tourist safely to the beach and he was then taken by speedboat to Koh Lanta then transferred to hospital in Phuket.

Dr Yingyong Temsinsakul led the team in the successful rescue after the tourist managed to place a call to the clinic to say he was in trouble, reported Thai Rath.
