Wanting to Stream video from desk top Computer

I am not a computer or IT expert by any means and I would like to take the first step to getting rid of my true visions satellite dish and gold package, but that will come later. I presently have an older (almost 6 years) but fully operational HP desk top computer running Windows 10. I have a TOT adsl wired connection with a TP-Link modem which is Wi-Fi operational. On a speed test I feel I have a very good 10.2 Mb download speed. 15 feet away I have a wall mounted 42” Panasonic VIERA model TH-L42U30T LCD TV (manual attached). It has three HDMI inputs and I am presently using two so there is one free. I want to purchase a user friendly Wi-Fi streaming media video TV box to utilize the third HDMI port. I am looking for recommendations on what to buy that can be installed without too much problem, and support would be nice also. It should have a remote because I do not have a smart phone to use as one. I like to watch American sports also if there are systems more aligned for this type of usage. Thanks in advance.

I believe that is Stremio. It does look good, but the OP wanted a recommendation for a box didn't he?

You can always buy a box then go to somewhere like this and download a full build

http://www.kodibestbuild.com/    this website is for this month November ...

I may try one-day, as to load different ones one by one take me a few days...  on Android box still on Kodi 16, on my PC have installed 17.4 ........ now it is Kodi 17.6..   have and used Kodi for years, still have kodi 13 on the laptop

Thanks for the replies so far and please keep your ideas coming. It appears that this thread might have been better placed in the AV (my apologies, I wasn't aware of it) forum but rather than cross posting I will just leave it here. It seems I am getting some good information and once again please keep the comment and thoughts coming.

Why not just stream from your computer. I stream all my content with 3BB 30/10 watching BBC, I-Player, Netflix US, US TV networks and many others through my laptop to my tv using a hdmi cable and I don't use a VPN.  I haven't used one, but I am curious if a streaming box can circumvent geographically restricted content restrictions. Can it hide your ISP's address to allow you to view blocked content from the US, UK and other regions?

10.2 Mb download speed.OP's post. Not fast enoough.

OP, why don't you upgrade your internet and go for Fiber Optic? TOT are curretnly advertising 50/20 for 799 baht.

I've got that speed and technology and I'm more than happy to watch movies on gomovies, former 123 movies.
