The only bidder for the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority’s NGV bus project, the SCN-CHO joint venture, is mostly likely to be awarded with the contract to supply 489 NGV buses to the city bus operator at a cost of 4,020 million baht.

BMTA president Nuttachat Charuchinda said Thursday (Dec 7) that negotiation between BMTA and the bidder would be accelerated so that the bid could be concluded and ready for the board’s approval on Dec 20 and a contract could be signed by year-end.

Once the contract was signed this month, he was confident that the bus fleet would be delivered within 150 days in time for the opening of a new school semester in June, said Mr Nutthachat, adding that a clause in the bidding term requiring the successful bidder to deliver the first lot of buses earlier has been deleted.

Keep the new buses on the docks. Its part of Thai culture to have the shit busters out on the streets.
