New zebra foal born at Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo

Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo has a new attraction after a zebra foal was born on December 2, the zoo director announced on Friday.

Zoo director Thewin Ratanawongsawat said the female foal was born to a mating pair called Diew and Song.

He said the mother, Song, had been watching the foal closely so zoo officials could not get close to it, but it appeared healthy and strong.

The new member raised the number of zebras at the zoo to four, he added.

He also invited people to name the new foal, adding that the selected name would be announced on National Children’s Day next month.
