The Phra Khanong court has accepted for deliberations the murder charge filed against former deputy commerce minister and ex-MP Banyin Tangphaporn by the family of the dead victim, Mr Chuwong sae Tang.

The court’s decision on Wednesday to accept the murder case for trial followed a two-month long pre-trial proceedings during which the victim’s family presented to the court several witnesses, including forensic experts, who claimed that Mr Chuwong, a construction contractor, did not die from car accident.

The car in which Mr Chuwong and Pol Lt-Col Banyin were travelling together on their way to a golf course in Prawet district struck a tree, fatally wounding the former, but the latter escaped unhurt. The accident occurred on June 26, 2015.

if a police officer becomes a politician, it seems to me that chances are increased for him to also become a murderer, purely statistically speaking...

Will there be an investigation in to why the Public Prosecutor refused, apparently without any explanation, to proceed with this case?

Surely it's important to have robust and consistent processes?

The wheels of justice are very slow in Thailand. It seems they are in fact turning in this case, let us hope they continue to turn in the correct direction and a believable outcome is the final result.....

.... eventually
