Forget Bowling, Canadian Sport of Axe Throwing, set to take Bangkok by storm

Bangkok, Thailand, December 15, 2017 - Bangkok’s first competitive axe throwing venue, Golden Axe Throw Club, is offering a brand new extreme sport experience, the lumberjack thrill of chucking sharp objects into wood.

Over the past 3 years, axe throwing has taken over with an addictive, cult like following worldwide. Locations growing out of Canada, USA, UK & Australia, Axe Throwing has finally found it’s home in Bangkok, just 15 minutes from MRT Lat Phrao & Chatuchak Night Market off Wang Hin Road in Lad Phrao. The sport of axe throwing is on par to evolve the gimmick venue landscape of Bangkok for tourists and locals alike. Owner, Siriluk Sathanart, says “Escape Rooms & Virtual Reality are a thing of the past, with axe throwing being the extreme future.”

Golden Axe Throw Club combines the format & concept of bowling, and turns it upside down, offering a more exhilarating experience. “It’s like bowling, or darts, on steroids. A great way to release stress in a constructive way, while enjoying a few brews”, co-founder Ryan Nelson, from Toronto, Canada explains, “It’s the same offering as archery or a shooting range, just safer, with closer supervision and structure.” The venue plans to introduce craft beer offerings, with Canadian influenced food pairings. “It’s all about having a drink or two, while doing something fun and engaging. It’s like having a drink in your backyard with friends, not about getting drunk and doing something dangerous”, Ryan Nelson affirms the safety of the venue, despite the dangerous image the concept might portray.

Grand Opening - December 22, 2017

Golden Axe Throw Club plans to end the year with a literal bang, the sound of axes sinking into wood. They are offering free open houses, December 22-24, from 7pm-10pm. It’s free for everyone to come try out, while being coached by trained staffed on safety rules & throwing techniques. Trained coaches will have customers throwing bullseyes within a handful of turns at hurling a hatchet.

The venue will offer private events, suitable for birthday parties, corporate team building events, bachelor & bachelorette parties, as well as private events for tour groups & hourly walk ins for individuals. Monthly competitive leagues are planned which will offer a new sport, based on weekly competition, to crown Thailand’s only Axe Throwing Championship with 1 winner bi-monthly taking the Axe Throwing Title.

Private Bookings are available after launch on December 22nd, and the venue has 8 lanes of axe throwing fun, which can host group sizes up to 50 people, with plans to expand to 80 person capacity in the near future. Grab a friend, or for a more tournament based competition, several friends, and head on over to Golden Axe Throw Club, the best time you never thought you’d have!

Will the club be providing beards as part of their facilities?

Why does every thing have to be an "experience".

The Great White North comes to Bangkok

Er, well because when you partake in something you 'experience' it perhaps?

The only poll will be on how many days it survives before someone gets an axe in the head.

Will make road rage even more interesting.

Looks pretty safe so far. Fences & supervised. Looks the same as archery/shooting range (which happen without incident mostly).
