Camping

Are there any camp sites on Phuket or within a couple of hours drive from Phuket, used to go a lot as a kid and fancy doing it again.

There's a good camping site as you enter the National Park at Thai Muang (about 30 minutes north of Sarasin Bridge along the coast).   The site is right next to the beach, and there's a number of local restaurants).   Did a Google search for more information for you, and came up with this:

Recently started enforcing complete alcohol ban at this campsite if it makes a difference, otherwise a great spot.

Oh don't know that. Thanks. Drove past last friday and it looked like business as usual.

Good reason to have a chat again with the owner.

Sorry just spoke to friend and he went to Kho lak instead of the Phuket campsite, so it's probably still operating, I thought he meant the Phuket site had moved instead of him meaning they went to another site instead.
