Look up the definition of a villa in the dictionary.

I did this some time ago and came to the conclusion that the term "villa" is rather overused by property developers and salespersons in Phuket!

We’ve got Villa for a house, Resort for a hotel and Boutique Hotel for a hotel that’s small and often past its best before date.

Before i purchased a villa in Australia my idea of a villa was a large house with staff and a private jetty on the coast of Spain, o boy was i wrong

Even duplexes or twin houses are called villas here by the real estate agents

But of coarse they have no training, licenses or diplomas here and are mostly ex time share and car salespeople
