Retox has suffered the same fate with it's sausages and don't seem to do the 99 baht "bahtbuster" now.

No more 99 baht bahtbuster at the Lengkee Retox?  I go there occasionally especially if I feel like breakfast at 3 pm as the bahtbuster special was available until 4 pm.

FYI breakfast buffet at LK Empress is increasing to 300 effective Dec. 1.

Anyone here tried the breakfast buffet at the Holiday Inn on Soi 1 and Beach Road?

The problem for some is many of these places are "English breakfast".
That means bean, fried bread, black pudding.
None of that is on the menu where I come from, I dislike it.

Another thing for me is the coffee.  Many of these low cost places have instant coffee.
Tastes terrible.

With this for me the best place for price and food quality is Bake and Brew.
Fresh ground coffee, fresh OJ (not from a box).  All the meats and food are quality.

165 b more then enough food and it includes the "bread buffet" which has fresh homemade jams and butter.

Black pudding is a must have breakfast item for me. Goes perfectly with bacon and eggs.

Coffee is coffee, all tastes the same, and I dislike it. A cuppa tea is the only option for me with breakfast.

99 baht buster breakfast still available at Retox Lengkee - last there Friday and will be again tomorrow morning.

Retox Game On (Soi Honey) definitely does not have the 99 baht breakfast. The equivalent is the "Breakfast of Champions" at 179 baht which is reduced to 130 baht if you have a golfers discount card - IE you are playing golf with the group run out of there. IMHO the quality of some of the constituent parts (sausage/bacon) is higher there.

Coffee for me is like some wines and Tequila.

Cheap wine and Tequila there is a big difference.

Same with coffee.

Fresh brew only for me.

If not, I will bring me own to some of these places that do not serve it.

Even 7-11 for 25 b has a fresh grind.

It is interesting with some of these cheap charlie coffee restaurants/sports bars.  I know a guy who owns a restaurant here and he said his bottom line profit is higher, as opposed to ordering a full meal, if someone comes in and orders coffee or tea.

Makes sense when the coffee or tea is 40 or 50 b. and the full breakfast is 120 b.

Like I mentioned before there is something strange taste about that breakfast.

When I go to Retox I order the omelet for 99 b.  Big omelet with ham, onion, cheese and toast.

I partake in fine wines, single malt whiskey and tea. Coffee as I mentioned, all tastes the same to me.

Also, i’m a very long way from a retirement visa, and none of my friends drink coffee. Maybe an acquired taste as you get older.

Had the Breakfast of Champions today at Retox Outback. Sausages really naff, like the lowest quality cheapo cheapo sausages in the UK. Couldn't eat them.

Ok sounds different to Game On because there you only get one sausage - similar to UK style and not the 2 Thai style thin sausages you get in the Baht Buster breakfast.

A hotel accountant told me the exact same thing in dublin years ago

The highest profit margin on the menu was old women coming in to have a cup of tea after they collected their pensions

The teabag costs them less than a penny and they charged about 2 euros for the tea...

More profitable than selling beer or food by far
