After a few dozen meters the car can be seen hitting Malul again, and then two of its occupants get out, stab him and flee the scene. Funny how well the CCTV system works when it is foreigner on foreigner attack.

Quite often CCTV catches Thai people carrying out violence as well.

Sometimes CCTV isnt working .

In this case it was .

I dont think that we need to suspicious about that

according to my thai friends many cameras are dummy or simply not connected to a network, one friend was the victim of crime and suggested the police view the cctv - not connected was the reply. there are about 12 cameras in my small local park that also has 4 security guards and has never to my knowledge experienced any crime maybe some will do something bad there sometime and make the investment worthwhile...

Crikey, not a very professional looking hit although obviously successful.

Could well have killed or maimed many others.

Maybe a sloppy hit but it was excellent driving.

No sweat as far as I am concerned (provided innocents are not caught up in it). :coffee1:

Another "mafia" ?

Why cant they just call them criminals , rather then "mafia" ?

Agree. Think the term is organised crime syndicate

"Criminals" would be sufficient though .

Calling them Mafia kind of glamorises them

I think sending paid assassins to a foreign country to exact revenge is a little beyond basic criminality??

Two Israeli men arrested for murder on Koh Samui

By The Nation

Two Israeli men were arrested at Don Muang International Airport on Sunday night for allegedly stabbing to death a fellow Israeli and seriously injuring his girlfriend on Koh Samui earlier in the day.

Police said Dolev Zuarez, 24, and Eyal Bokal, 26, were arrested soon after arriving at the airport at 9.30pm.

They had flown to the capital on Thai Lion Air flight SL747 from Surat Thani at 8:30pm. After detaining them overnight, tourist police flew them back to Surat Thani at 9am on Monday to face murder and assault charges.

The two are accused of killing Maor Mallil, 34, and injuring his Israeli girlfriend, Rashel Oshana, in broad daylight on Chaweng Beach-Ban Choeng Mon Road in front of Samui International Hospital in Moo 2 village, Tambon Borphud, Samui district.

The attack was captured on a roadside CCTV camera and the story featured prominently on various Thai media on Monday morning.

Initial reports claimed the arrested men were members of a mafia gang.

In the clip, the two victims are seen on a motorcycle being run over by an SUV. Then, Mallil is seen getting up to help his girlfriend out of the road.

At the moment, another motorcyclist, believed to be a friend of Mallil's, gives him a lift to help him escape but the SUV is seen reversing, hitting the bike and sending it and the two men to the ground.

A passenger in the SUV then rushes out and runs after the two men. At that very moment, the SUV blocks the CCTV’s view and the passenger returns to the SUV, which speeds off.

Police said the moment missed by the camera was when Mallil was repeatedly stabbed by the SUV passenger. He died later in hospital.

Police said the two arrested men admitted that they had been hired to kill Mallil and they had followed him all the way from Israel.

The two suspects were found to have entered and left Thailand several times previously.

Fair enough , just read the report and it seems that they were organised crime related and not just some local dispute
