....and hope that none of them will pack their stuff and move to Farang Eldorado. That's what happened to me.

North Thailand/Chiang Mai area is my favorite...

Best place in Thailand to retire (for me):

Our 3 rai garden at the edge of the jungle, far away from most everything.

 

It could have been just about anywhere in any (sub) tropical country really, as I am not particularly interested in the locals and their culture.

I chose Thailand for practical reasons, but mostly by pure coincidence.

Bangkok.   We have way more than 2 movie places, more than 2 shopping malls, and have loads of bars and restaurants.    We also have a great public transport system.
 

lower floor Central Embassy....if I could retire there I would.
