Strange background noise on Google

Featured Replies

Only started today, but when I open a new Google page I get what seems to be radio type static. No voice or music, just static. As soon as I do a search the static disappears, but the noise remains until I do. Anyone else experience this?

Look and you'll see a 'PLAY' icon in the middle of the Google logo. Click it and you will get a silly cartoon playing. Something called the 'Doodle Snow Games'.

How do i turn it off?

While using Skype today, I was hearing a lot of different sounds.

I chalked it up to NSA or something like that.    Does Thailand have some similar agencies?

It just finishes playing - not very long - then you get options to share on FB etc.

If you open a new tab it goes away anyway.

Very silly but slightly amusing.  Once the Winter Olympics are over it will stop, I imagine.

So "relief" should be at hand on 26th February, all being well?
